This is an attractive, well run site. The C&CC say it's run by a Monsieur Bellendorf for the Automile Club de France.
The site entrance is about 500metres north of the N98 coast road - (leave the N98 at the roundabout where the entrance to Praires de la Mere is). The site is set on a hillside, so many pitches are on terraces. Some pitches are a fair walk from the gate. I'd say about two-thirds of the pitches are occupied by statics, with various owners. There are some tour operators present, but not the usual British ones.
Pitches: most are of a reasonable size. This site has a much more spaciuos feel than the sites nearer to the beach. There is little or no grass; in summer the ground is very hard (so take rock pegs) and is very dusty. Water in most cases will need to be got from washblocks, as there are few taps. Few pitches have any useful shade. Access to some pitches is difficult for large outfits beacuase of the terrain, and the site staff, so I hear, sometimes fail to grasp this.
Washblocks: most are accessed by steep stairs - so will not be accessible to all. They are regularly cleaned. There are sometimes seriuos queues for showers, but I guess that's common on coastal sites in peak season.
Pools: there is a superb olympic-sized open-air pool, which is great for swimmers. There's also a small toddlers pool. Unfortunately there's nothing in between, so some kids will not be catered for. There are two slides which have a seperate plunge pool. The staff organise aqua-aerobics some mornings, and water polo some afternoons. There are strongly-enforced rules for speedo's only, and no food and drink in the pool area. There are sunloungers around both pools, but shade is only provided near to the toddlers pool, which leads to a situation reminiscent of the parent and child car-park spaces at the supermarkets back home.
Play areas: there is a disappointingly miniscule play area near to the bar / pool complex. There is also a huge play field at the far end of the site, but again with a little amount of equipment.
Entertainment / noise: there is a bar, a take-away and a good restaurant adjacent to the pool and site reception. There is nightly entertainment in peak season, but this is usually all over by 11, and is can't be heard from all but the nearest pitches. From higher pitches, you can hear the large scale entertainment at other sites in the area, and this can sometimes go on into the early hours. For those wanting more than Naiades has to offer, the substantial ents at Praries are accessible.
Beach: the nearest is accessed through Praires de la Mere, so is walkable if you're keen and don't mind the up-hill return walk. This beach gets extremely crowded peak season. Alternatively try a drive to Pampelone (go early to aviod the St Trop traffic queues) where the beach is far less crowded.
Supermarkets: there is a shop on site which is reasonably good, if small. There is a large Casino a short drive away (10 mins off peak, up to an hour at peak!).There is also a new E. Leclerc near Cogolin which is quieter and cheaper.
Things to see and do: there's no shortage of either. You're mid way between St Tropez and St Maxime, and also the Gorges du Verdon accessible for a day trip.
We enjoyed our stay immensely (28 nights) and will return at some time in the future.
