This was our second visit to Sunny Pooh.
A great welcome with a cup of coffee and biscuits - the most friendly hosts!
Huge pitch, very quiet and perfect for our 2 dogs.
A 10 minute walk to the local pub and great places like Bude to visit nearby.
Really love it here and will definitely be visiting again!

Just back from a week in this immaculate site.
The owner was so helpful when I arrived in a hired campervan with far too much stuff and didn't realise once the bed was down there was nowhere to store everything. If he hadn't come up with the idea to lend me his own trailer to store my stuff I would have ended up going home!
What a kind thoughtful man I enjoyed a wonderful peaceful week on this lovely site.

Just returned from this amazing location. The site is very attractive, spotless and well -kept but retains a delightful informality.
This is largely due to the owners who are so welcoming, helpful and kind. A pot of tea on a tray arrived as soon as we got there. Their rescued animals are entertaining especially the geese.
The light-hearted Pooh theme is fun and the alternative accommodation, of the Shepherd’s hut and Wave Pod is most attractive.
Peace and tranquillity reign in the little corner of Devon with a lullaby of distant sheep and lambs, and evening bird calls to lull you to sleep.
The nearby Village Inn, shop and hall around the village green mean you have facilities at hand.
Slightly further to travel are lovely beaches and busy towns all located within beautiful countryside.
If you want to recharge your batteries I think you can do no better than here.

We had planned on staying 2 nts touring cornwall, enjoyed the peace and quiet so much, we stayed another 2 nts
The side is well kept, only one toilet and shower but
Very clean and tidy, very homely, site even has very long hose pipe to fill onboard water tank,
Nice rural setting, good access for large motorhomes and caravans
To site, all in all a very nice quiet site and at £14 pn incl mains hookup, good value for money
Will definitely go there again

Just been to Sunny pooh corner. We stayed in our campervan for three nights with our dog Archie. We were the only people on the site. The weather was fantastic every day and this site was definitely sunny. It has wonderful views of the Devon countryside. The shed which had a flushing toilet, sink and hot shower were perfectly adequate. Ray and Lorna were very friendly and left us in peace to enjoy our holiday. The only thing I would add to the shed would be a surface to put your clothes when you are in the shower and a wooden slatted shower board to step out onto once you have had a shower.

Everything that's already been said is just so true. The site is still quiet, the shed still has the shower and toilet in it (payment for the shower by way of an honesty box in the shed).
The village shop and pub are still fantastic.
The only problem you may have is if you've got a very big unit. The site is nice and open, with a hedge down 2 sides, but I suspect that it could be a bit exposed if the wind got up. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

I'm torn between telling others about this little gem of a site and keeping it to ourselves. But, to be fair to Lorna and Ray (the owners), I have to tell everyone that this has to be one of the best CL's we've ever been to.
Our first visit was for twelve days at the beginning of August and our last stay was for eight days at the end of August. We stayed at Sunny Pooh 'cos it's an adults only 5van site in the midst of beautiful Devon countryside. The lanes are narrow in places but we managed fine with our 26'10' twin-axle van; leave the main road at Clawton and follow Ray's directions!
Half an hour's drive will get you to the north coast including Bude, Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac and many of the magical little coves inbetween. Or you could spend a day discovering Bodmin Moor or Dartmoor. Launceston, with it's castle and excellent shops in just a few miles away. And, in the opposite direction, Holsworthy is about seven miles away and has a local produce market in the square every Wednesday.
We tend to cater for ourselves and eat at home (in the caravan) but we go out for the odd pint or two in the evening. We found 'The Village Inn' to be a friendly pub with a good selection of beers. We saw the meals being brought out of the kitchen and WOW! Ginormous plates of lovely looking grub at very reasonable prices.
Back on site, the 'shed' holds a nice shower cubicle, modern lowlevel loo and matching sink.
The place is tiled and has cushion floor covering underfoot and is kept spotless.
The centre of the site is basically a square wildflower meadow and the vans are pitched around two sides.
Lorna and Ray are very laid back, lovely, helpful people and deserve to do well with their special little cl. We'll be back before the end of the year for some more of Sunny NPooh Corner's tranquility.

We have just come back from two weeks on this site and I hate to tell you that it is as good as the above posts say.
The pubs great, everyone is so very nice and the grub is scrummy would recommend the lasagne. Don't have a starter and trust me you won't want seconds.
We spent most of our time on Sandymouth Bay (not much further on than Widemouth Bay) an absolute jewel of a beach and free parking to National Trust members.
The little shop in the village of Ashwater has a terrific stock and the people that run it are lovely.
I could give up caravanning and go and live near this site quite happily. I had a wonderful time rain and all. If you go don’t forget to ask about the goose called Bruno who thinks he is a hen. And, try the fresh eggs, happy hens make lovely eggs. This site was definitely a sunny happy find.

A lovely cl site plenty of space very peaceful very friendly owners, we stayed for 5 nights could of stayed much longer!
There is a shower & toilet on site, the owners provide a info file that they have put together with useful phone numbers in and tourist attractions very useful and a nice idea you will find it in the shower room.
Well situated, small village shop/post office and 'the village pub' are about 15/20mins walk away, the pub was busy very nice meals we were glad we had booked. 15 mins in the car from Launceston.

Fantastically quiet site with lovely owners. We were there at Easter and the only sounds apart from birdsong (including the cockrell on site) and the very occasional passing car was the Easter service coming from the Methodist church next to the site.
The Village Inn in the village did a good selection of meals which were very well priced. Lorna advised to book and she wasn't kidding. The only thing that let the pub down was a slightly surly landlord and much too many kids allowed in the bar area but the girls serving worked their socks off and made up for that.
There is a well stocked community shop in the village next to the church which was handy as the major supermarkets are some distance away and well worth supporting.
For this year there is a shower and toilet in the field which is housed in a shed and is far better than it sounds.Just remember to take your own loo roll!
There are sheep at the site but there is a field where you can exercise your dogs off lead if it isn't being used by the sheep. I approached by the narrow roads and had no problem as I never met any other traffic but if you did and it was on one of the steep hills you may have a problem.
