 When approaching Die on the D93 from Crest, follow the road for Gap around the cemetery, keep on the lower road past the Tourist Office and then past the Fire station and only then turn left at the next roundabout. It seems longer but the narrow streets and variable one way system through the centre is a nightmare.
The campsite is a delight for those not wanting hi-di-hi activities
The pitch sizes vary, as do the amount of shade from the trees. They are not strictly delimited but all have access to electricity. The book does say 6 amp, but upon opening the junction box, all sockets have 5 amp circuit breakers. Notices implied that pitches could get claggy in the rain (but we had 7 days of total sun)
Life centres around the large sanitaire area, which not only has abundant hot water and very clean facilities, but is the where the bread arrives in the mornings.
The queues for it are prodigious and the newly baked bread is fantastic, they also bring croissants, viennoise etc.
The centre of the town is 2 mins by bike or 10. Mins by foot. A lovely old square and cafes for people watching plus restaurants in the side streets.
At entrance to the campsite is a very reasonable restaurant. Wifi is expensive but free at the tourist office in town.
Surrounding area are just stunning for walking, mountain bike and canoeing. The local wine Clairette de Die, which is liked by some
