Very helpful friendly staff. No facilities at all. Loos were there but no soap or toilet roll which seemed very poor.
Drinking water available. Ground was very bumpy though we managed to a flat enough space for a 6 berth tent so was ok.
We took a portaloo so didn’t care what their loos were like and for the price it was a bargain.
Be aware though due to being by the water it is very windy.
Nice spot though. Scenic.

When we arrived it was late (11:15, due to an unexpectedly long journey) but there was a little confusion as when we set off my girlfriend had phoned to tell them we would be late(she had asked them if it would be ok as we would be turning up 10-11pm anyway)basically we were told by whoever answered the phone it wasn't ok arriving at that time. Though this was one of the condition that we booked for that night. It was ok in the end as when we arrived we it just meant we couldn't drive onto the site (1min walk from campsite - there is a gate permanently locked which you need to grab someone for to be able to drive to unload your tent). This is nothing major, just not what you want to be told when you set off on your holiday. Just if you arrive late that you'll need to lug all your stuff to your pitch from the car park which is slap bang outside the site entrance.
Camping facilities include a tap. No other facilities for campers which isn't brilliant ie, no shower, no washing facilities. The main downfall are the toilets, which are very poorly maintained indeed (modern-ish toilets, just needed a good clean). There are public toilets for the park and consisted of two male and two female. One of the male toilets was blocked for a good deal of time and both were out of toilet roll for a good long while (had to take Babywipes). There was a festival while we were there so was an addition of 4 porta-loos which were in a dire state by the end (lucky to find any toilet roll) Incidentally, our first night, when the porta-loos were freshly delivered, were the best choice between them and the standard toilets and it really shouldn't be that way. Facility wise I'd easily rate this 1-2/10.
The site itself has a large lake with some watersports available which was really good (£5 for a 30 min single kayak). There's also a lake cafe which is fairly quaint. Handy thing for kids is a really decent playground and other than that there's loads of space for them.
I'm not including it in my rating if the campsite, just a heads up but the immediate area around the campsite is pretty dreary - shingle beach about ten mins walk but that's it.
For us, it was the lack of camping facilities that really brought it down.

Agree with the facts stated on the last review but.
You wouldn't have to be Einstein to work out how to 'unlock' the toilets. It a square hole that can be turned by anything that will fit the hole. The loos may be open to the public all day but they are spotless again by 0630hrs. Didn't use the cafe because the staff were affhand at best.
Lots of dig wakers and swan feeders but none of them came onto the peninsula we camped on. Most disturbing thing was the hooting owl and the noisy cows.
We thought it was a rough site to start with (we stayed three nights) but on reflection having stopped the rest of the week in 'proper' camp sites around Kent, we thought it had a rare, if somewhat dubious charm. Would we go back. Probably not, but why would you need to spend more than thre days on the Isle of Sheppey?

We booked this 'campsite' for a few days away over our wedding anniversary. I was excited after reading the last review (I now realise it was written 3 years ago) and the professional looking blurb on their website.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: We were told we could pitch anywhere that was mown. We chose to camp on the grass peninsular - surrounded by the lake on 3 sides. Lovely. I was very quickly glad we hadn't pitched on the main shore of the lake as a dog walkers would have been constantly parading past our door. This is a very public park and even off the main track as we were I felt quite exposed. The gate to the carpark is closed overnight but there is still pedestrian access and we were awoken at 6am by a loose dog rummaging at the lid of our gas BBQ so we had to bring it inside the tent - not ideal.
TOILETS: The toilets were just the ones that are available to the public using the park and purposely designed to make washing and brushing your teeth difficult: the hand dryer is no more than 6' above the (tiny) sink. There are no mirrors and did not seem to be cleaned very well. They are also positioned to be most convenient for the public using the play area and cafe so the camping was quite a walk away.
By the second night we were considering our options (I really don't think you can charge for camping when no extra facilities other than those available to the general public) when we returned home to find the toilet block locked! We were tempted to leave there and then but it didn't seem fair to disturb our little boy so we were forced to keep our legs crossed or try and find a bush not full of dog walkers. The owner had joked that she had forgotten to open the toilets for some guys that were camping there the day before so this is obviously a regular occurrence. What I don't understand is they didn't need to open them for us, they were open when we left in the morning, they must have locked them while being able to see our tent in the middle of the lake.
SHOWERS: At first we thought the showers had been accidentally left locked but the next day we were told there were no showers! On the booking-in form the line about charging £1 for showers was crossed out and the pitch price obviously put up by £1 in pen, so I (stupidly) presumed they had incorporated the cost into a flat fee (nicer in my opinion). But no! They had removed the shower facilities AND inflated the price! I have seen campsites advertised as not having showers before but they were in the woods where you could build campfires and get back to nature, not on the edge of towns! In the heat of July we would not have been comfortable, or that welcome, at the local restaurants!
WASHING UP: No washing up facilities! The lack of washing up was stated on the booking-in form but not on anything I could access before hand - I would have taken more supplies if I'd known.
WATER: There is one standpipe by the toilet block (the only thing reserved for just campers).
CAFE/RECEPTION: Looks very pretty and food seemed very reasonably priced but as it only opened at 10-6 (or whenever the staff turned up) it was too late for breakfast and too early for dinner, which is a shame. After these hours there is no staff available or emergency contact number.
LEISURE FACILITIES: The advertised steam train only runs for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon and the advertised boats for hire were stacked up on the roof of a shipping container and didn't look very appealing (and I am a sucker for a pedalo). The play area looked nice and quite modern.
CONCLUSION: We packed up first thing in the morning after our 2nd night (we had paid for 3)and then had to wait until 10. 15am when the young girls showed up to open the cafe to get a refund and our key deposit back. One of the girls apologised profusely and sorted our money (and a free Coke) out very quickly. The other girl, the daughter of the owner I believe, glowered at us and said they 'normally leave the toilets open' as if that helped us.
A pretty park for dog walking but not for a holiday.

We visited here with friends and as there were no reviews on this place we were in two minds whether of not to go, but we did and I'm glad!
This campsite is a lovely place, with not too many pitches and no EHU, but has a good shower & toilet block which is cleaned every day by contractors.
There are 2 shower rooms (one male and 1 female) both with 2 showers in them, although when we went the mens one was being used for storage. When there's lots of people camping this could cause problems.
Lovely playground on site, built last year with some quirky apparatus and sand box for the little ones. Also a little cafe on site selling ice creams, drinks and snacks which are well priced over looking the lake.
The lake on site had water sports activities when we were there and we took part in water zorbing, which was great fun.
Ground wasn't very flat in general, but we found a good spot.
Dogs and children are welcome on site, but bear in mind there is some noise as a result in this.
The beach (shingle) is a 5 min walk across the road, and a sandy beach 15 min drive if that. Indian take away 15 min walk from site.
All in all we found the staff very helpful, the camping prices were good, and the area lovely, although it is very remote, somewhere you'd go for a 'break away' This is the first season camping is open since new owners took over and revamped, please support them!
I'm sure we will return next season.
