We visited this site this year and it is a typical French family site. It was on a stop over for two days on our way to La Rochelle. It is very basic site and very quiet and nothing like the commercial sites proximate to it. Access is strictly controlled by a barrier which you leave a deposit of 15 euros with reception in exchange for a fob and also a key to the back gate which gives you access to a lovely short cut to the most beautiful beach a short walk away. It appears that on a certain day of the week you can help yourself to free mussels. There are mussel beds a few yards into the sea.
It has a small children's play area and their reception area has a small cafe which serves the basics. Their toilet/shower facilities are the cleanest I have seen, with good hot water at all times no matter what time of the day or night. They have a covered area where you wash your pots or clothes, again they are spotless. Marie Nicole and her husband run everything and it is the first site that we have been to with good wifi which is around the reception area.
When we arrived it hadn't rained for weeks so the pitches were very dry which made pitching great. There are various sized pitches so you can choose small or large. They have the typical hedge boundaries to them which make them very private. You need a french adapter for your hook up. We had to borrow one from the site which they supplied at no extra cost.
There is a pretty little town Muzilac is few minutes away in the car. It hosts two supermarkets, one smaller and one on the trading estate on the outskirts of the town.
The site is very quiet even though there are quite a lot of French children on it for their holidays. Would we go back there again - most certainly! It was one of the most cleanest sites in France. The Beach was amazing and if you sail it is a must to bring your boat.
