The website shows this site doesn't open until April. Despite this we emailed and asked if we could stay for a few nights.
Martin and Shirley, the owners, said that the water / electric etc was not on yet but we could park on the drive of their house and plug in etc.
The area around Biser is stunningly beautiful. Plenty of walking and cycling, although the roads are more than a little potholed.
If you are travelling to or from either Greece or Turkey this is the first or last campsite in Bulgaria. Its well placed for a holiday in itself and then to travel into the other countries for a few days or even day trips over the borders.
Eating out is very cheap meals for two with wine for less than £5. There is a Lidl store in the main town and plenty of other supermarkets and shops. Prices are incredibly cheap, foodstuffs were under half the prices in Greece.
Martin and Shirley are without a doubt two of the friendliest, helpful and hospitable hosts we have experienced on a campsite. Nothing was too much trouble, even down to allowing us to use the facilities in their house and taking us for a meal.
We can't rate facilities on the actual campsite but can rate the site location, cost in relation to other sites and Customer Service and there is no way this site could be less than 10/10. If you are travelling to our through Bulgaria would recommend this site for a short or long stay.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and comfortable. Both the owner and his guests were extremely helpful and friendly and we met lots of interesting and amusing people. The site was very easy to find and well located for onward travel to Turkey or Greece, several of the guests we met were doing just that with two young guys riding to China and one couple coming back from an Asian tour. The only thing lacking that we can think of is a pool. We would definitely go back any time we were in the area.

Excellent little site and a godsend for anyone taking the overland route to Greece. There are a number of British expats in Bulgaria and this site has been developed by Martin and Shirley in the grounds of their house, using equipment imported from the UK. Basically it's a large grassy area with, as yet, not much shade, though trees have been planted and the owners have plans to construct some hardstanding pitches with sun shades over them. The toilet facilities are excellent and there are washing-up/laundry sinks under cover. There is no washing machine but the friendly owners offered to let us use theirs! There is a small general shop/cafe 5 minutes walk away in the village of Biser. This is a very rural area with many interesting archaeological sites which Martin is pleased to tell visitors about. From here to the Greek border is only a short journey.
