We like the castles brand (have used 3 others) but this didn’t have the same feel as others it was more like a Sandaya or Yelloh.

Anyway. Good sanitary blocks, plentiful hot water for showers and if you were lucky you could find a large shower cubicle. We paid more for a premium pitch so had fridge, tables and chairs etc.

Some of the pitches near us were quite tiny so glad we paid extra. Couldn’t use the comfort facilities as waste pipe wouldn’t reach and go uphill to the outlet. Also couldn’t get electric to run ‘normally’, despite reverse wired adapters, so had to chance running it as it came.

Had pizza one night and moules et frites one night from restaurant, OK but nothing spectacular taste wise. Bread / pastries available from shop, had to order them night before. Super you in village about 1. 5miles away.

Swimming pool OK, main pool absolutely freezing but it had a heated kids and normal pool. Poolside ground rough under your feet. Kids play area is a trek downhill, has some nice things for them to do for a few hours. The water slides are part of the park area down the hill, so you can’t go from pool to slides and when you get there you can’t sit as there’s nowhere to lounge in swimwear.

Had a drink down at the bar one afternoon, but given it’s location down the hill we didn’t go down for the evening entertainment.

Used laundry when there, all fine but it was €10 to wash and dry clothes which was a bit steep.

Overall it was OK. Not as good as we were expecting due to the spread of the entertainment / pool facilities. Thankfully we made friends with a Dutch family opposite which made our stop a good one.

We were there out of season, so had all of the immaculate facilities more or less to ourselves. The new sanitary block is heated, totally enclosed and has hot water in the showers. You might want to turn down if children are around. New open and separate covered heated pools are very good - might get a bit crowded in high season. This is not a problem because, on the site is a vast adventure park, this has water slides, swimming pool, large boating lake and pedalos, a long luge slide, ball cages for the toddlers, pedal go cart track and much much more.

All this is free to campers. (You can avoid seeing your offspring all day!)

Nearby in Landudec, is a large new SuperU which also sells fuel. Quimper is about 10 miles down the road for the city types.

Within a 12 mile radius you have Pointe du Raz(a bit like Land's End), Pont Croix, Douarnenez( a lovely port), Locronan ( a ripoff tourist village).

Loads of rather nice cider farms around which do tasting.

The site does have wifi but is pricey, 5 euros for 3 hours.

The best news is that it takes Vacansoleil cheques April-June and September
