This was our first time touring in France and we had pre-booked this site with the full intention of staying a week so my son and I could fish.
We received a warm welcome from Matt who had located us as requested opposite the main lake with a wonderful view. Matt pointed out that there was a small store in the village that sold bread, milk, etc and was very helpful in many other ways.
We were told that the main shower/toilet facilities where near the main building with a short walk, but there was a toilet we could use next to the barn. This was a corner of the barn separated by laminated MDF and had a loo and wash hand basin inside. In the main building there was one shower that was old but clean.
The site had some lovely views but on further inspection we discovered that they had been a fire in one of the chalets made out of UPVC and it looked like no attempt had been made to clear away the debris. This had also affected the chalet next door and the full side end had melted. This was occupied by a French family.
The fishing was good with a lot of expert advice on hand from the French families holidaying on the site and my son and I spent a lovely relaxing day fishing, whilst my wife sat in close proximity reading her book and supplying us with drinks and nibbles.
The facilities at Le Malidor have all seen better days and the shower and toilet facilities need completely revamping. The site would be ideal for a group of men on a fishing jolly, but not for a family holidaying.
We spent two warm wonderful days at Le Malidor but cut our stay short through the poor facilities and moved on.

We stayed at le Malidor twice once in July/August 2008 then again in 2009. In 08 we were greeted by matt he said he was the owners nephew. The site at first glance was a bit shabby but Ok for a few days stay. The facilities were adequate but as matt told us the site was under negotiations for sale to new owners our stay was OK I would at the time liken the site to a CL/CS type of place but larger. Some bigger units may have had problems manoeuvring in some of the tight spaces. We actually called in here again on our way back up to calais the same year.
Our second visit 12 months later was better the new owners had done their level best to tidy the place up. The toilets and showers had been given a new lease of life the place had been given a lick of paint and it was looking a better site the prices were still the same in 09 as 08. To me it was a lot better site then from the year previous. We stayed 4 days in total and were made to feel very welcome by the owners. We would stay there again.

There was a very warm welcome from Carol, Keith, Carol and John when we arrived for our first visit to Le Malidor. We were shown to our very chalet which had its own garden overlooking the lake. It was very comfortable cosy and clean. We found the owners very helpful and they gave us directions to the local bakery a few minutes away as well as the local supermarket which was very well stocked, this is about 10 minutes from the campsite. Le Malidor is peaceful and beautiful and certainly is a place to relax and unwind. They have beautiful lakes where you can fish, crazy golf for the family and a pool. A comfortable restaurant and bar where we ate every night and where you can find other visitors and locals. Everything on the site was spotless and the owners did everything to make us feel at home. We drove to the Loire Valley which is a couple of hours away where we spent a wonderful day and also visited Mont St. Michel. We felt that we would certainly return next year. We enjoyed our time and have no hesitation in recommending this campsite to our family and friends.

We have enjoyed two visits to Le Malidor this year, the first shortly after the new management took over and then again last month. The improvements they have made to this site are amazing; they are clearly working very hard. The site is beautifully laid out with roomy pitches (with electric supply included in the price) divided by hardwood hedging. There is a bar with seating both inside and outdoors, where meals and drinks can be bought at very reasonable prices. Kids seemed to have a great time amusing themselves on the crazy golf and other activities. All the facilities are regularly inspected and well cleaned.
We stayed in one of the lake-side cabins which are well-equipped and comfortable and each of which has its own garden area and gate through to the lake where you can fish for carp if you wish. It was a real pleasure and so relaxing to waken up in such a lovely setting.
The Le Malidor team were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the local area. These are folk who are enthusiastic about making your stay as enjoyable as possible and we hope to return and see them again before too long.

I had the pleasure of staying in one of the very nice cabins, next to the large lake. The cabins are very well equipped, and have everything you would need, for a short, or long stay. The view across the lake, in the morning is a pleasure to wake up to.
The site has a very pleasant bar and snack bar, with plenty of outdoor seating.
The new owners of the site were very helpful, and were happy to give a tour of all the facilities the site has to offer for cammpers and caravanners, and in the short time they have been there have gained some valuable local knowledge, regarding supermarket etc.
All in all, a very peaceful site, with something for all the family. Very relaxing, and the perfect place to recharge your batteries.

We stayed here in a tent July 2009. The site is well signposted from main roads in the area. The site has about 20 pitches in three rows all divided by mature hedges.
The site is under new management and we had no problems during our stay, the shower block is basic -two showers and three toilets- were cleaned very regularly. There is a bar and food is available although we didn't avail of this. Use of the washing machine was €2. The owners are welcoming and knowledgeable of the local area.
The local town has a good boulangerie, alimentaire with beer and wine available. No bar or restaurant at the time of our stay. There are plenty of larger supermarkets within 15 minutes drive.
For fishing there are two lakes and several chalets - I'm not qualified to comment on this but there are fish.
Overall a very nice site. We would stay there again.

We pre-booked this site for an overnight stop with the option of staying a few extras days should we have wanted to. When we arrived the place looked closed and very rundown. We got a friendly welcome from the English owners relative who was looking after the place in his absence but was told that the bar and restaurant was closed (in August!)
The ammenities consisted of a hut with one old and very wobbly toilet and one shower, and couple of basins, certainly not the cleanest or most modern we had ever used. The pitch was a good size with hedging on three sides, although the grass was quite long which was quite a problem because it had been raining for a few weeks and the ground was very soggy.
The overall impression was that the site was quite rundown and had been neglected for some time. Needless to say we made a hasty departure the following morning and headed South!
