Just spent three nights at Broomfield Farm. Whilst the site itself is lovely, you have a choice of pitching out in the open around a large field or in amongst the trees. No toilet or shower facilities but this is not a problem as you are made fully aware of this in their advertising. The big problem is the access road leading from the village. You need to be very careful, the edges of the road are very dangerous in some place and in others you need to drive very slowly over the ridges which could easily damage your vehicle. Once on site great care must be taken with an uneven road around the site.
It's about a 30 min walk to the village where there is a pub, small post office/shop, coffee shop and where you pick the bus up into Eastbourne.
Although we enjoyed our few days we would not return because of the condition of the roads and lanes. It is not worth the worry of damaging our van.

Stayed here over the Easter week in April 2017. There are no shower or toilet facilities which we were well aware of, using our own facilities was not a inconvenience. The site was very well maintained, grass cut to a very acceptable level. Recycling was clearly visible and encouraged by the site staff. A beautiful rural site and a dog walk area both on and off site. Staff really helpful and informative. Hard standings of really good proportion. Site is in a rural location and blissfully quiet.

An unusual site for the Caravan Club because of the narrow access roads and the lack of a toilet block. But it is well maintained by the first class and helpful warden (we met only the lady) and the sheer peace and quiet the site offers. This is a place for adults only we suggest, as there is nothing for children. The choice of an open area pitch or in among the woods is a bonus. The site has a high number of seasonal pitches, few of which were occupied when we visited.
There is an area to walk dogs, but unfortunately it is not fenced and dogs have to stay on a lead - surely something the Club could attend to?

A lovely site with well spaced and mostly hard standing pitches around a central green. There are other pitches in the woods but if the weather is not good it could be quite dark and damp, so be warned! We personally preferred the open aspect although quite a few the tourers on the site seem to be seasonal and seem to have taken up a good proportion of the pitches on the open area, which I personally think is very selfish, especially considering that we spent 3 weekends on the site and probably over 90% of those vans were not occupied at any time throughout our stay? They are also not moved very frequently and seem to have 'grown in to' their site, literally, which gave the site a slightly 'scruffy' appearance. We backed onto a high hedge with a field and horses behind. It's so peaceful with just the sounds of nature occasionally interrupted by the sound of a tractor in the surrounding fields.
There is no toilet/shower block just electric, water and waste disposal facilities, but we are happy with this as the price reflects the lack of facilities (cheaper than some CL's in the area).
The wardens are great, a lot of them we spoke to being volunteers and fountains of information for things to do and places to eat. The site is kept very clean and tidy, with the exception of my comment above.
It is definitely in the country, please, please use Caravan Club directions not Sat Nav and don't get worried if you think your lost when following them, you will arrive although it gets quite 'hairy' in places!
Tesco and Waitrose are about a about a 20 minute drive away in Uckfield. There is a bakers and small Post Office stores in the village for essential items. The wardens office has bread, milk and eggs and papers can be ordered.
We would recommend the Kings Head in Hoathly for a meal and The Star Inn at Waldron for both a stopover for a quick drink or a meal. Both very good value and an excellent meal, The Star changes it's menu every week and is the better of the two with more choice on the menu, steer clear of The Halland Forge, it looks nice from the outside but it's expensive, boil in the bag and no atmosphere!

We stayed at this site for 10 days the end of July and were reluctant to leave.
A little gem of a site with well spaced and mostly hard standing pitches around a central green. There are other pitches in the woods but we personally prefer the open aspect. Some of the pitches in both areas are seasonal. We backed onto a high hedge with a field and horses behind. It's so peaceful with just the sounds of nature occasionally interrupted by planes overhead !
There is no toilet/shower block just electric, water and waste disposal facilities, but we are happy with that as the price reflects it ( cheaper than some C.L.S in the area ).
The new wardens of 3 weeks are great - there are just the 2 of them and the site is kept very clean and tidy. Very friendly, helpful and always time for a quick chat. Nice to see a happy face when arriving on holiday !
Vodaphone mobile signal is not too good but that seems to be the whole area not just the site. Television is reasonable on analogue but for Digital you will need a separate aerial.
It is definitely in the country ( use C.Club directions not Sat Nav ). If you have children or like the coast the nearest beach is 15 miles away ( pebbles ), some lovely walks (Seven Sisters and Beachy Head if you feel energetic ), local walks through quaint villages and historic houses to view.
Tesco and Waitrose are about a 15/20 minute drive away. There is a bakers and small Post Office stores in the village but we didn't try them. The wardens office has bread, milk and eggs while papers can be ordered.
We can thoroughly recommend the Kings Head in Hoathly for a meal. Well presented and cooked with decent portions at a good price. If you like the 'big band' sound go on a Wednesday as it is band practice night in the room next door so entertainment is free !
Overall a lovely site in a great area that we would certainly recommend for a 'get away from it' break.

Set in a very pretty peaceful and rural location, you have a choice of an open meadow or tucked in amongst the trees with hardstanding. We had nice sunny weather for the Friday and Saturday and walked on the South Downs and visited Battle and Rye, but on the Sunday morning, the snow arrived!
We had been warned not to drive on the grass as it was pretty boggy and this was true, but I would imagine this would be a lovely place to stay if the weather was kind. There is a nice village close by with a good pub. There are no showerblocks or laundry facilities on site, so be prepared to use your own. There are hook-ups and waste disposal and very few items are sold in reception, so go well prepared. As is usual with caravan club sites, the area is well maintained and the wardens were friendly and helpful.
