The host was welcoming, and very helpful. With lots of local informative knowledge.
The site is in a beautiful quite glade, with wildlife abound.
There are meadows the kids can play in, benches for picnics.
The local pub/restaurant is 15 mins walk and sources most of the meat and veg locally
Thank You
Harold and Jan

This is a lovely, quiet site in a beautiful setting. Although the facilities were not luxurious, and wouldn't be adequate for large numbers, this was made up for by the warmth of the welcome, and everything was clean and well maintained. When we came we were the only campers, and the owner had the grass mown specially to accommodate us. The owner was friendly and attentive, and she cooked us a delicious and substantial breakfast, with home made muesli and eggs from her own hens. All in all a very beautiful, friendly and comfortable place to stay.

This was a spur of the moment idea to cram in the last camping trip of the season. We were truly lucky with the weather but what an amazing campsite. We were all alone in a lovely sheltered field. Elaine the owner was hugely welcoming and helpful -she even lent us her headset torch so that we didn't get lost on our way back from the pub. The facilities were as described with a lovely hot shower. I really would recommend this campsite as it is so unspoiled and peaceful. 3 pubs within walking distance all serving butty Bach and stowford press -heaven.

Me and my kids were very impressed with the friendliness rating !
It's just a couple of small areas of grass on a peaceful smallholding - you're pretty much camping in someone's garden. Plenty of trees providing shelter, and lots of birds and other wildlife. My kids were delighted to find a hedgehog in the compost heap, named it Prickle, and spent the rest of the week trying to find it again. Glad to see that even at 12 and 14, they don't always need the telly for entertainment. There was a bit of distant low traffic noise from a busy B road, so not completely peaceful.
The owner is incredibly helpful and enthusiastic to tell you about the area, and very laid back about payment - we stayed for a week and didn't pay till we left. She also supplied us free range eggs and sausages from her pigs for a delicious fry-up.
The facilities are pretty basic and limited, but we were there for a week in the middle of the school holidays, and there were never more than 3 other groups on the site, so I can't see it ever getting too busy. The loos and showers were always clean, which is as much as I need. Anyway, I don't go camping to spend my time in the toilet block.
There's a lovely circle in the trees at the top of the garden for a communal camp fire.
We used the car a lot to get about - there's not many walks directly from the site, but some really nice walks in the area, particularly the Mortimer Forest and Croft Castle, (beware of the extortionate NT parking charges). Ludlow is a very impressive market town with interesting shops, about 10 miles away. We had a nice swim in the River Teme at Lentwardine, and by chance discovered the Sun Inn tucked away off the main road. Great old Parlour Pub, nicely modernised at the back with lots of local real ales, and a fun beer and music festival at the end of August.

This is a small site in lovely surroundings slightly slopeing with plenty of wildlife. There is only one shower and toilet in the same unit so could be a problem and a fair trek to it too. There is a pub nearby and shobdon not far away for a shop. There is just a tap in the field and the owner has holiday cottages on site so the parking can be a problem. I also found the field after rain can be soggy but not often. This is a lovely quiet site.
