This is the perfect place to have a big family or friends get together or to take a youth group.
If there are no groups booked you can turn up with your own tent and camp but generally the campsite accepts group bookings for the whole site (paid for per person per night).
Facilities are ready pitched patrol tents or provided dome tents in various sizes for you to pitch yourself. You can also bring your own tent but why bother when the tents are there ready for you?
In addition to the tents there is also a residential block of dormitories sleeping a total of about 24 people.
There are 2 kitchen areas with cookers, fridges, freezers, microwave and kettles. These are fully stocked with all you need to cook for a group of 80 people including cutlery and crockery. There is an inside dining area with tables and bench seats and a classroom/ meeting room with DVD player. There is also a very small lounge with a wood burning stove and a tiny dining room in the cottage - perfect for if there are just a few of you.
The site overlooks Hereford and has lovely views - especially in the evening. Campfires are allowed in the campfire circle and large barbeques are available to hire.
In addition there are a range of games and equipment available for hire including grass sledges, snooker, table football, initiative games, football, table tennis and lots more.
The shower blocks and toilets are divided into boys and girls and one for leaders (it is mainly used by youth groups). If you are hiring the site you can choose how to use them.
I have camped on this site with a few different groups over the last few years and have really liked it each time. The site has undergone lots of development so I have seen improvements every time I've been. My visit in May was with a group of families with children aged 1 - 21. The site is fenced in on the road side and has fields on the other side so was lovely for the children who could wander apparently freely whilst staying safe and generally within full view.
We spent most of the weekend on site, making use of the equipment and having barbeques and campfires. We went out to Hampton court gardens (a few miles away) for an afternoon trip but other than that were entertained by what was there. On previous visits we've gone for walks from the site and there are walk packs available to save you working out where to go! There is also an Iron age settlement worth exploring just over the road.
Book early as some groups book a year in advance and the centre is full most weekends.
Weekdays during term time are often available so it would be a great place to do a school trip or similar.
The centre does have high expectations of leaving it as found, so allow time for cleaning at the end of your stay.

Dinedor is a site for groups only. Any type of group can rent the site. We stayed here in May with a group of other families. There were more than 50 of us in all, some in our own tents, some in the permanently pitched tents and some in the cottage and dorms.
The centre is an excellent venue and Adam manages it superbly. There's a fully-stocked kitchen and dining room, you do all your own cooking and cleaning, but that's the beauty of the place. There was a range of activities for the children, the grass sledging was a big hit with some of the adults too.
This is an ideal location, just outside Hereford, for family gatherings, scout-type groups or anyone else who enjoys spending time in the outdoors.
