Good grass pitches among tree glades - next to a large lake but only a few pitches with lake views -

Area great for kids with centre next door.

Small shop - bar and facilities good -

Wi-Fi only works near reception.

Motorhome service point in inaccessible ridiculous place.

Couple of restaurants 200-400km away

3km from Eijsden 5 km from Maastricht-

Bus near site entrance.

An ideal location for our visit to Maastricht for the Andre Rieu concert - an easy 20 minute cycle ride along dedicated cycle paths to the city centre.

Large spacious site with many private pitches and clean facilities on a lakeside setting.

Only downside was the electric hook ups were limited to 6amp. A long cable was needed.

Easy cycle ride in opposite direction to Eisjden where there was a Lidl supermarket.

You could also get a bike ferry there across river Maas and cycle an alternative route to Maastricht from there.

Note that the site only accepts cash or Maestro payments, not credit cards.

Can't say enough good things about this site. Really easy to get to, around 1. 5 hours from Rotterdam. On our arrival we were met with a really friendly welcome. Our pre-booked pitch was ready for us with no issues. You have to leave a 10 euro deposit for the barrrier key (a safe site!), but other than that everything is included in your price. We stayed for a week, and it cost us no more than a decent site in the UK.

Pitch - Was pretty big, however the ground was really hard so would recommend taking rock pegs. No real issues though. Our pitch was about twenty yards away from a little beach area, and was next to the play area and football pitch. We have two small children so it was perfect. We played on the beach, which is cleaned every day with a little sea weed. We swam in the River Meuse most days, which was lovely.

Playground - Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Perfect.

Shop - Basing our experience on UK camp sites, this shop was not open nearly enough and weren't really stocked with a lot of things. There are numerous supermarkets though, so I'm being hyper critical regarding this. Saying that the shop was cheap for ice creams and sweets. Paying around a euro for a Cornetto, which we thought was acceptable.

Bar - Perfect for a little drink at the end of the day. We had a great weeks weather so we sat outside every night and had a scoop.

Showers/Toilet, etc - Again being hypercritical, the showers could have been a little bit more powerful. Free to use though. Toilet facilities good, along with washing. Only criticism was there weren't any sink plugs. Otherwise all facilities clean in fact I saw young girl actually scrubbing the showers with her hands.

Location - Absolutely beautiful location and as we all know Holland is perfect for cyclists. We took our bikes and had a few lovely bike rides with the kids as well. Rode into Maastricht and had a lovely meal in the square. If you turn right out of the site you can go to a little town called Eijsden, which was beautiful. We didn't explore any of the resturants or bar's much. You can get the train to loads of different places from Maastricht. We went to Eijsden to Liege which took about twenty minutes. Make sure you get your ticket before you get on the train, it is far cheaper. We forgot coming back and got charged a small fortune (our own fault). Liege train station was beautiful, really impressive.

Next to the camp site is a place called Fun Valley - Can't recommend it enouugh. You can take your own BBQ food and there are loads of BBBQ's that you can use free of charge (take your own BBQ coals, etc). All perfectly safe. There is lots for the kids to do i. E. Paint balling, high ropes, kayaking (including in the admission), etc. Cost us 30 euros for four of us. We were there all day and had a scream. Our kids are 9 & 4. We were first there and last out. Take your own picnic though because the food was typical of these places (not very nice and plasticcy).

Overall - We had a wonderful time in Maastricht, the site was beautiful, friendly and really family orientated. Perfect for what we wanted.

Would we go back - No! Only because the world is a big place and there's so much more to see. Otherwise - Yes!

Stayed here for four nights to visit Andre Rieu concert in Maastricht. The comments of the 2008 review are still valid. We were allocated a very large pitch but had booked several months ago. The site was full over the weekend but facilities were adequate. On booking we had to pay 50% of the pitch fee by bank transfer, but using TransferWise the admin cost was very small. As we were on our way to Dresden we did not stop long but the site and area are worth a longer visit.

A lovely site alongside a lake. Our pitch had a hook up and a dustbin (with refuse sack). It was a good size and on one side had a hedge giving privacy from neighbours.

Showers were clean and plentiful but required tokens (for 5 mins) 50c each. Toilets were clean with plenty of paper.

As we had a dog we were not allowed a lake view pitch - but you are only a short walk away.

Free wifi at reception and plenty for children to do - table tennis etc (remember to take your own bat and ball).

Cycle paths all around. Never felt so safe on a bike!

A very nice site which deserves its good reviews.

This is a beautiful site on the banks of the River Maas, about 3-4 miles south of Maastricht.

The pitches are all arranged in small areas, each looking like a lawn surrounded by mature trees. It makes it all very private, and it feels like you're on a very small site.

Children's play facilities are excellent - several play areas on site, and don't worry about it being on the river bank, as it's a very shallow part of the river. Table football and a table tennis table are also provided (outdoors).

One of the best things here is that you can cycle into the centre of Maastricht completely on cycle tracks, without going near a road! This would make it ideal for a motorhome stop if you have bikes. There's a great round cycle route too, into Maastricht, then into Belgium and across a pontoon ferry into the village of Eijsden, just to the South of the site - about 15 miles, but a lovely ride.

On site facilities were all spotless, with a microwave and hotplate provided in the dishwash area, and lots of laundry facilities, as well as all the usual.

There's a small shop and bar on site too, selling the basics.

The only negative thing about this site is that they do not accept credit cards, so come prepared! They do accept Maestro cards though.

In all, a really lovely site, reasonably priced too. I would definitely recommend it.
