I found this campsite online and rang to ask for availability. I found the price was very good considering.
The location: Poor. Unfortunately it is just off a main A road (speed limit 50-60mph). It can be very poor access if you're towing a long or larger caravan and even whilst trying to return back from a day out and going out - it can be a nightmare trying to turn out. The road is very busy.
Around half a mile down the road is 'The Halfway Inn', nice enough food, reasonably(ish) priced. However, if you've got young children don't expect to sleep Friday and Saturday night. Loud music went on until the early hours of the morning, keeping our 14 month son up and giving me a headache.
Facilities: Poor. This camp site boasts of a shower block, Shower and 'ice block freezing facilities'. However, the toilet block was nothing more than a spider and web infested shed with cold running water. The shower? A joke, I'd call it a trickle myself. It leaked badly, it went from freezing cold to way too scalding hot. There was no happy medium and unless you take a shower worth around 30 seconds to a minute - forget it. The shower is free and is not on a coin meter.
Site: Nice site, grass was in good condition. Enclosed with a lot of trees and bushes so you're somewhat sheltered by the wind. However, some of the site is on an incline and we found this a little tricky when trying to pitch.
This site does not accept pets - also why I chose it so I knew my son wouldn't be at risk of stepping in a mess or the added stress of dogs not on leads etc.
Nothing else to really report, we would not go back to this site but this is our personal preference.

To say 'We loved this site' is an understatement! We couldn't imagine a more perfect site (or site owners) for what we wanted out of this short break. We like quiet relaxing sites - this was certainly ideal for us.
Lovely little private campsite. Peaceful, beautiful.
Likely the worlds nicest owners who were extremely friendly and helpful - always happy to help and ensuring we enjoyed our stay. We almost felt like we were family during our short stay! The kids LOVED it - helping pick the dandelions from the field with the elderly owner who always seemed to have time to chat and be friendly. A real Gent!
If it's of interest, ask to see the PRIVATE gardens, you'll be blown away at the beauty resulting from so much hardwork and dedication of the owners.
The Camping area is a huge field/garden area with electric points around the edge. The centre of the field always stays empty, so masses of space for kids to play. A perfect site for young families!
Pitching was easy, mostly level (I use leveling blocks anyway) and the pitches were a good size. No issues to report (unlike some others).
We stayed with 4 Adults and 3 Kids (aged 4, 3 and 2). We never worried about the children once. They played safely, were always within sight (no way of getting out of the field except the main entrance) and the field was large enough for them to never be an issue for the other campers (we hope).
The owners are relaxed about vacating the premises. If room allows, just simply pack up, move your caravan onto the hardstanding and go enjoy your last day. Just come and collect it later that day. This meant maximum enjoyment from our short break as we weren't rushed to leave and could have another day of exploring.
There is one FREE shower and two WC's. VERY basic wood shed, but it's clean. Rustic is the word - but it works. The spiders were friendly enough. We use our caravan WC and shower anyway, hence why this doesn't worry us one bit. Just a note: If any facilities at a site fail to work correctly, simply make this known to the owners. Without someone telling them, they won't know. They don't use the showers themselves. So just mention it and it'll get fixed.
The site is off the main road, so extremely easy to access, and if you miss the turning (which we did) don't panic, there is a roundabout at both ends of that short stretch of road to turn around and try again.
The road can be a little busy - but there was very little noise in the camping field. We had no issues entering or leaving the site despite having a larger caravan (which some people have mentioned) but I suppose this depends on the time of day/year etc. It is a busy road, but if needed, turn left and use the roundabout which is about 1-2 miles up the road.
The local pub (a couple of miles away) had some music playing late one night - but that's not the fault of the site and didn't cause any issues for us.
The price was a real bargain too.
Will we be back? 100%!

The site itself is lovely, reasonably flat, grassy green surrounded by trees. It’s small enough to keep a close eye on the kids and big enough for them to amuse themselves. It is close to the road but sheltered by the trees and while you may sometimes be aware of the general road noise it certainly didn’t keep us awake at night. Pitches are well sized and nicely spaced.
It is perfectly situated for Corfe, Swanage and Studland and I have to say it is well priced. You get what you pay for.
The toilet and shower facilities are really very basic. Fairly clean as sheds go, but very rustic. The ladies and gents toilets each have a sink and cold water tap. No hot water at the sinks, no soap or towels or hand dryers provided so bring your own. And/or use your own hand gel. I didn’t bother trying (or even looking at) the shower which I guess would have been the only source of hot water.
The road is busy 60mph and no pavement which is unfortunate as there’s a lovely pub with good food and ales up the road which I would have loved to stagger back from.
All said, I would return to this site again. I love the location, I think it was perfectly priced if you come prepared to make the most of the limited facilities (bring your own antibacterial soap and hand towels as a minimum).

Good location despite proximity to main road. Take care when exiting as the traffic can be fast moving.
Plenty of space although we were on a hardstanding due to the soft ground.
Very close to Corfe Castle and the Swanage railway as well as plenty of other attractions.
Facilities are quite basic and due to the cold weather not fully operational which made things more difficult. Ie the shower was not working / available.
Check price carefully as extras can add up significantly!
In good weather the site would be a lot more user friendly but could suffer from insufficient facilities.

A pleasant site which is reasonably priced with friendly owners.
The toilets are very basic but adequate, and there was a little queueing for the one shower, which would probably be worse in the summer.
There is some traffic noise due to the main road.
One point I would mention - it's not a level site, only bits of it were and we had to use blocks under one side of the motor caravan. We had relatives in a tent, but fortunately they didn't slide too much.
The main reason for choosing this site was the Swanage Preserved Railway, which is just on the doorstep.

This campsite was very quiet, and had about 12 level pitches. There is only 1 toilet and 1 urinal and 1 sink for the men, 2 toilets and 1 sink for the ladies, and the sinks only had cold water, and 1 hot water shower for everyone. Despite this though I never had to queue, and they were cleaned daily.
There is nowhere to wash up dishes, so got some cold water from the tap and washed up at the tent.
Owners were friendly. There is some noise from the road, but we hardly noticed it and it certainly wouldn't put us off returning.
Location is great for visiting all the surrounding area - Corfe, Wareham, Swanage etc.
Price was very reasonable too - for 2 adults with tent it was £10 a night, bearing in mind the limited facilities this is a perfectly adequate price to pay. We would go back if in the area.

As other reviewers have said it is very close to a busy road and the traffic noise does continue all night as this site is on the main route into swanage, so complete peace and quiet is not really found here. The entry into the site off the main road is a little tricky as the road is busy but that could be the same on many sites. The facilities on site where at best very very basic, two toilets and one shower, which could do with a little updating and some tlc.
The site itself is nice fairly flat and surrounded by trees with the pitches all around the outside which left a great play area for the kids. The site is fairly well placed for corfe and the beach at swanage.
The owners where fairly friendly and checked all was well, even lent us an extension cable as the hook up point was a fair distance from our pitch.

This was my first visit to a CS site and I was impressed.
First the negative, yes it is close to a very busy road. If you are a light sleeper this may not be the site for you. But against that you can still hear the birds, see bats flying at night and a short walk and a bit of luck as we had you may even come across some deer. It is also well placed for local places such as Wareham, Corfe and Swanage.
There were about 15 units on site when we were there but there was still plenty of space and you didn't feel cramped. As it is a CS site there where 2 toilets each for both men and women and 1 shower only. However this did not seem to be a problem. The toilets were cleaned on a daily basis and while there may have been a few cobwebs I think in added to the charm.
The owners where the friendliest I have come across so far. Helpful when booking by phone. We where shown to our pitch upon arrival and told to pay when we were settled in. On our day of departure they came round and checked everything was ok and wished us a safe journey.
This site may not be to everyones tastes but I enjoyed my stay and will return again.
