 Firstly to our knowledge this campsite is only open for the Fairford Airshow so if you want to stay at any other time I would contact the site directly.
Just returned from a weekend away and despite the rain had a great time. Firstly the site is situated parallel to the runway so fantastic views all round.
This is a farmers field which is transformed into pitches for the airshow. Very well organised, staff on hand most of the time. Campsite can be found down a long track which is about a 20 walk into the village.
Facilities are portable loos (cleaned frequently) 4 unisex showers which had very hot water, sink and mirror per cubical. Fresh water points around the site, no electric hook up.
This is a great site to view the aircraft flying and to see all the displays, we would even go as far as saying a better view than the grandstand due to it's location, the planes turn right above your head.
We decided to go into the airshow on the Saturday which is a 1 hour walk door to door on paths and roads so if you plan on camping and not driving to the show consider taking your bike!
Although we didn't sample the food a BBQ was on site for breakfast and tea. Due to the fantastic location of the site, this is also used for 'park and view'. Park your car and view the show. A handy site if your going to the show and/or if you wish to view the air displays. We'll be back next year!
