We have just returned from a very enjoyable holiday immediately after lockdown easing.

The site was booked via Facebook and Tim was very quick and courteous with replying and provided the gate security number. It is easily reached from A64.

The site is at the back of the house on a level field (lawn) with a pond in the corner. There were numerous sanitary bottles around and we were asked to read the 'risk assessment' which was on a garage window.

We were left to our own devices and able to pitch at will. The site is very well maintained. The site is only a few miles from York Monks Cross Park and Ride and shopping centre.

Parking is free and the return fare to York is £3. 50 per adult. The site has more or less constant birdsong.

We would definitely return to this site.

This is our 4th visit to this CL and we adore it. It's well kept and beautifully landscaped. The owners couldn't do enough to help us when we had an electrical issue with our caravan. Good size pitches and with a secure gate in and out of the CL we felt happy with leaving our caravan for the day and indeed with our kids playing. Perfect distance for driving into York and a short drive to the park and ride and local retail park which is perfect for getting the groceries in on a lazy day. Only thing is the TV signal is awful, but that's the joys of camping and luckily enough we have our own dish we bring with us. We will definitely be back again.

I agree totally with the previous review. I e-mailed the site before our visit to clarify the price - I had no reply. It was only when we went to pay the owner a sign in the window said please note now £12 per night. Queried this with the owner and she accepted £7. 50 per night.

If they amended their website it would make this clear.

Positives to this site are lovely location, nice and flat with good access.

Negatives, could do with some TLC - owners advertise this as a quiet and peaceful site - they need to take this on board. They made the noise and were not considerate to caravanners.

Racing cars up and down the lane and revving cars late at night. This spoilt our stay.

Firstly make sure you check the cost of this site as they advertised £7.50 pn for 7 days or more, but I was quoted £12! Their explanation was that there had been a death in the family.

This could be a really nice site with just a little tidying up. The woods surrounding the site were littered with beer cans and dumped rubbish. The Elsan point was a sort of ivy covered cupboard. Worst of all was the constant revving of motorcross cars - possibly a hobby of the owner - but at 10.00 pm? Not a restful stay and certainly not worth £12.
