This is a good site with friendly owners and plenty of information about the surrounding area. The facilities were a little basic with one shower and 2 toilets but these were enough for the size of the site. As other people have mentioned the site's major drawback is being right next to the A51 which means you hear a lot of passing traffic. If you can tolerate that though things should be fine.
I was backpacking so didn't have time to check out the local area too much, but Tarporley has some basic shops such as a co-op and pharmacy along with 2-3 pubs. If you're doing the Sandstone Trail as I was its a good overnight point.

This was a lovely site, with a friendly, welcoming owner who had suggestions about the surrounding area and things to do and see. The shower / toilet block was fine, adequate for the size of the site, and washing-up facilities were good. Plenty of hot water.
There were some nice little extras too like fresh eggs for sale and a book library and some toys to borrow.
Our only disappointment was the noise from the very busy road. It is an 'A' road, and seemed to be busy most of the day and night, with trucks and cars rumbling past, which unfortunately kept us awake (the kids were fine so maybe we are just light sleepers!).
If you can cope with the road noise this is a good priced site in a great location for Chester and surrounding areas.

Fantastic Site. We visited with a group of about 15 of us, and were very well taken care of. Ellis, the site Manager took a personal interest in making sure we had an enjoyable visit. The location was ideal for our visit to the Crocky trail the next morning, and great links to Chester. Great value for money, and fantastic toilets and shower. We'll be going back!

Stayed here just for the one night while backpacking along the Sandstone Trail. Wonderfully sheltered, mostly flat field with a few undulations. Next to a main road, so the noise can be a bit obtrusive. Facilities are basic but spotless (no shower though).
About 10mins walk from the centre of Tarporley, where The Rising Sun serves excellent food. There is a Co-op for bits and bobs and a takeaway which does free delivery.
