A lovely family run site, very clean and tidy facilities. Plenty of hot water with washing machine and spin dryer available for a fee. Onsite shop open for an hour in the morning and an hour in the late afternoon. Small play area for children and a large recreation field for dog walking and games. It's an easy site to find and has a selection of pitch options. Quite windy on the deluxe pitch and storm straps for awning would be advisable. Toilets immaculate and warm.

My husband and I stayed at this site for a week.
The owners are very pleasant and gave us lots of useful information.
The site is lovely and peaceful. We had a deluxe pitch which was a very generous size. Facilities are good.
There is a small shop open twice daily that sells all the essentials.
Good location for visiting surrounding area. Ie Padstow, Wadebrige, Bodmin.
The camel trail starts at padstow and you can cycle as much or litle as you like.
Lovely cliff top walks that weren't too dificult. We did 7 bays cliff top walk, the views were amazing.
Only down side for us was because we don't like to move our motorhome once we arrive, there were no paths along the road for somewhere to walk.
Overall lovely site that I would recommend to anyone.

Been to this site 4 times. It is just perfect. Didn't think it could get any better until Jan revamped the shower cubicles. Fantastic! Yes, they are push button shower, don't understand the last reviewer who found them annoying. (have you tried showering for 4 minutes at a cost of 20p, even my stress levels rose lol, ). Would like to see a wet suit hosing area but hey perfection would get boring. Very relaxed atmosphere, well spaced out pitches, everything you could ever want in a REAL campsite. Excellent play park. Massive play field, excellent for evening kite flying. Shop for essentials, opening times fine. Don't need 24 hours, that's what supermarkets are for. Well drained pitches. Excellent for fab beaches. Perfect perfect perfect if your looking for a real campsite that is. :) will be returning without a shadow of a doubt.

We stayed at this site in our tent in July for a long weekend.
As this was our first camping weekend it's tricky for me to compare it to any other sites.
However I can say that booking was easy - over the phone. We then received email confirmation.
I thought the pitches were close together, and in fact when we arrived the people next door to us had sprawled over into our pitch, so we moved into the corner into another pitch.
Luckily it wasn't busy. If it had been at the height of the summer holidays I wonder how crowed it would be.
However, as I have nothing to compare it to, that could just be my interpretation.
However the field was flat and the grass low.
The field is bordered by a hedge which I am assuming acts as a wind break. Luckily for us is was beautifully calm.
The toilets and showers were very clean and tidy.
Two showers and four toilets for women and I am assuming the same for men.
Push type showers, which my husband found annoying but free and lots of hot water, but you cannot adjust the heat of the shower, which for me is annoying as I don't like hot showers.
Small park - swings etc in the middle of the camping field, a little rickety, but my daughter loved it.
Small shop which the owner runs. Able to freeze ice packs which was great, and sold provisions etc, although only open at certain times of the day.
I would recommend this site and I would definitely go back
Again as its so close to our favourite beaches and Padstow.
St Merryn is just up the road, great bakery and pasties!

Small and friendly, clean facilities, enough for the amount of units there. Playground small but fab, the kids loved it. All very safe. The owners could not do enough for you.
Nice little shop on site for essentials. So you sometimes have to queue to wash up, your on holiday, what's the hurry!
One of Cornwalls treasures, I can say this because I have booked again next year so have no fear of not being able to get in. Beaches close by as it Padstowe.

Arriving.
Anyone going to this site should be advised to follow the directions given as there are a number of very narrow roads nearby which could cause touring caravans a problem.
On arrival the owners were helpful and friendly showing us to our pitch (the site was only about half full) and we had a couple of empty pitches either side. We had arranged for friends to join us later in the week and the owners remembered the booking and pointed out the pitch next door was reserved for them.
Amenities
The site is divided into two areas. One for caravans that are sited permanently and a second field for tourers and tents, this field has a large conifer hedge along one side and gives welcome shelter for those of us parked next to it.
The amenities are quit basic but clean with two shower cubicles in the men’s toilets and presumably the same in the ladies but there is no charge for there use (hot water free). There is only one sink for washing up which may get a bit busy during peak times. Also in this area is a washing machine.Tumble dryer and iron. Some small swings and sand pit are in the centre of the field for young kids to amuse themselves.
The site in general is clean and tidy and is within 5 minutes of some great beaches (Harlyn Bay or Constantine).
We had two dogs with us and while there are public footpaths virtually through the site they were very overgrown. The owner did say we could use the lane and fields belonging to the farm (but beware the farm dog ! )
Verdict
All in all a good basic site reasonably priced…the only problem was the electrical supply …. Without being to geeky….The supply to our van was so small that trying to boil the kettle caused the fuse on the sites distribution board to trip every time. I would advise anyone going here to check on the supply rating and be happy with that before paying for an electrical hook up.

This site was literally a haven in a storm for us. We arrived at Padstow as south-easterly gales started to blow. We had tried Dennis Cove but the proprietor warned us that there was no shelter from south-easterly winds for the available pitches, so went to the Padstow Tourist Information office and they recommended Trevean. They even phoned to check if there were vacancies.
Despite a fairly exposed location, the touring field has some tall thick conifer hedges and by tucking ourselves behind one of these, the weather was not a problem even when the winds were gusting at 60mph (Force 10!) There is a good play area with swings etc, and well-made picnic benches. The shower block is small but has free hot water, showers and hair dryer. There is a well-equipped laundrette with a coin-operated spin dryer - ideal when washing by hand (I wish every campsite had one!). Morning and evening the friendly and helpful site owner opens a small shop with basics - the bread and the eggs were extremely good. St Merryn seemed to have a useful selection of shops etc, but the weather was so bad we didn't do much exploring, just holed up and waited for it to pass. One advantage of staying at Trevean is how close it is to the beautiful beaches of Constantine Bay and Harlyn Bay and Trevose Head, all well worth a visit.
