Perfect for my needs. Super friendly owner and a great location.
I was doing the Lejog hike and it was a great place to stay. Although I didn't wash my clothes there were facilities to do this. Wonderfully quiet and had a great view to wake up to.

We've stayed at Parkhill Farm probably about 50 times in the last 5 years.
It's blissful, as you can see be the number of visits we've made there it's one of our favourite spots. As previously said it's close to Barnstaple, but up and out on the hill so you feel well away from everything. There is a stunning view over the estuary, and always complete peace.
The showers are good and hot and efficient, the loos are always clean. We use the field tap for water for washing and drinking. We've done a fair few one nighters there and a few longer stays too and always receive a warm welcome. We stayed in the lodge over New Year and it was fabulous, cosy (it was pretty darn cold out!) and well set up with all the bits you need.
You can be in Barnstaple in 5 mins for shopping etc, (great 2nd hand book shop!) or along to Saunton for surfing in 20mins. The beauty of this site is it's not wall to wall enormo-tents and caravans, it's almost always quiet and you choose your own space (almost never anyone one else there!) We can have a campfire and just feel totally alone with the starry skies!

This site no longer has static caravans, they have upgraded to a lodge which is a very comfortable log cabin, this cost me £300 in peak season which is unreal value for money. I will be returning in the future,
The farm is in a great position on the side of a hill overlooking three different valleys, it is close to Barnstaple and central to all north Devon attractions,
the owners are very pleasant and helpful and could not do enough to help us, they had some dogs which were being looked after for the owners daughter, I could not get my kids away from they were so playful wish we could of taken them home.
With the site facilities I have given ten out of ten but only used the lodges not the camp sites.
Also they are very flexible on their booking allowing us to stay Sunday to Sunday missing the heavy Saturday traffic.

This is a site for people who like their campsite to be a field with a view, the essential facilities and nowt else except a friendly welcome. The view is terrific, and there is a hedge which will shelter tents from westerly winds. There is another more sheltered field.
The facilities are two toilet-and-shower units and are modern and clean - don't get the wrong impression because of the utilitarian doors! The showers work well. There are no washing-up or laundry facilities but I didn't find this a problem.
The campsite owners are organic hill farmers so tend to be busy but are friendly and helpful. It is excellent value for money and I'd like to think I'll get back here for a longer stay maybe next year.
The site is only 30 minutes from Barnstaple cycling uphill, 10 minutes down into the town! Handy for the Tarka Trail, Braunton Burrows, etc. Barnstaple pannier market is great and the market cafe has super scones.
