Please note as of 2020 this site is no longer a Caravan Club CL and no longer accepts touring caravans or motorhomes. The site now consists of nine Deluxe en-suite Wigwam cabins and three Wigwam Lodge Fully Accessible cabins
Stayed here for 7 nights on a visit to York and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is a very basic and secluded CL and has no toilets or showers etc but the service area(water & waste etc) is very clean and modern.
There is a lovely little lake next to the pitches(all hardstandings) with it's own family of ducks.
You can hear owls hooting at night, cows moo-ing for milking in the morning and if you like air shows you will see one most mornings(weather permitting) courtesy of the flyers from local Elvington airfield.
Nice friendly owner too. Highly recommended.
Management response: Please note as of 2020 Wigwam Holidays Ball Hall Farm is now a luxury glamping site with ensuite luxury cabins, so previous comments referring to caravanning facilities may not be relevant
I visited this site recently on my way back from Scotland and what a lovely little cl this is. We had it to ourselves.
A basic but beautiful site well off the beaten track with only waste points and fresh water, and no toilets ect.The approach road is really quite but is single track so take your time.I took my 9m motorhome here no bother.
The site has 5 hardstanding pitches which sit right in front of a really pretty little un-fenced lake but, unfortunately the lake is not for fishing.Good wildlife here with hooting owls at night.
I`m not sure of any attractions or shops nearby as this was a quick overnight stop for us so do your homework first. The site is just outside York though.
This is a cl that I`ll definitely be returning to.
