So, our 4th consecutive year visit! Last year we were still in a 2 person tent with no electricity. This year we are with a trailer tent and electricity. €14. 50/night was not going to break the bank! This is still an excellent overnight location and I'd be happy to stay 4 nights to base ourselves near Orleans. Last year there was a change of manager/wardens and they are still here. What a pleasant couple! (Frank & wife). WiFi good and strong at least as far as the toilet blocks. Frank goes out of his way to ensure all campers are OK. Bread delivery (unreserved) by van hooting & stopping at toilet block (8:15am). Mosquitos were more prevalant this year. This is becoming our regular homeward half way point from Dordogne to Calais.

My review, a year a go, said I'd use this site again. Our homeward route this year was similar and so this one night stay again was preplanned. Excellent overnighter. Additionally to my previous post is that free Wifi is available. Reception staff were friendly and allowed us to choose our own pitch. Entrance is via a security barrier, so if reception is closed, you won't get in. This is a charming quiet site ideally suited to longer stays. Our SatNav was quite confused on exit and we had to ignore it for a few miles unti we left Checy's one way traffic system.

We used this site for 1 night, travelling north back to Dunkerque at the end of our holiday.
€10 covered 2 adults, tent and car (no electricity) in a fairly large pitch separated from neighbours by hedges. Electricity hook-up is available.
There were enough vacant pitches for us to feel that this would be a good back-up for anybody worried about late arrival in High Season.
Reception and arrival was very friendly and welcoming. The reception closes at 8pm and the site cannot be entered after 10:30pm. All facilities are clean and modern, however the showers close from 11pm until 7am with only the toilets/washbasins remaining open through the night. Bread and croissants are delivered each morning.
We would certainly use this site again, both for overnight stay and longer to explore the Loire area near Orleans. Although only seen whilst driving through, Checy seemed a pleasant town worth a visit.
The arrival road, although gravel and a cul-de-sac, may be a little noisy if you are sited in a pitch only separated from it by a tall hedge. It seemed to attract quite a few motor cyclists who were keen to show of their off road abilities!

Like Blatchatter, we went to this site after finding Olivet full: the two sites are part of the same organisation; this is to East of Orleans (there is another campsite to the West, probably slightly closer to the centre but we haven't tried that).
The site is basic but clean and secure. It is beautifully positioned on the banks of the Loire with walking and cycle paths in all directions. No provisions available on site but the village of Checy is a stroll away. As well as the walking, the local villages all have something of interest although, of course, not the great buildings and museums of Orleans which are likely to be the major attraction. Driving into Orleans is not great fun but quite a few buses run to Checy from the city.
The site is grassy: one end, with electrics divided into hedged units while the other end had trees under which tents and vans are parked at will; separated waste bins but not easily understood!

This is a pleasant site beside the River Loire about 5 miles from the centre of Orleans. Most of the pitches are divided by hedges and offer some shade. The site facilities are clean and have English style toilets, showers (€0.30 for 3 minutes!) and launderette. There are also chemical disposal, motor-van waste and electric hook-ups. The warden lives on site in a mobile home and the office is open until 10.30 pm.
You can walk directly from the site on to the banks of the river which makes for a pleasant stroll after a long day’s drive. The site is excellent for an over-night stop and would be very good for a longer stay. We found this site after finding the Municipal site at Olivet full at 3.00 pm!
The approach to this site is through the town of Checy with fairly narrow streets.
