Lovely setting with views over the estuary. The entrance is tight but we tow a 8m caravan and got in with no problem.
Linda was most helpful. A pitch had been allocated.
An envelope had been left attached to our pitch with details of payment in case we had arrived whilst the owners were absent.
Many places to visit in the area: Clovelly, ilfracombe, Dartington Crystal factory.
Contrary to the info given about this site, it is dog friendly.

A little gem. Thank you May for a great stay. We shall return hopeful in Spring next year 2016. Give this site a try if you want peace and quiet yet close to towns, stunning scenery from the site and close to the Tarka trail great for cycling and walking. Great value for money. Couldn't have been made more welcome

This is one of the little gemstones that we return to every year.
Well what a surprise this year. May and her boys have a lovely new tarmac drive from the road to the farmhouse.
The toilet has been refurbished with white plastic clading walls, all very clean.
All the EHUs are new and the pitches well signed.
As ever the views across the Taw towards Chivenor are breathtaking.
Down the road in Fremington is one of the best Chinese Restaurants I have ever experienced. The Han Court. They do take aways too. No MSG, brilliant!
Also in Fremington is Graylings award winning fish & Chips.
As ever May's gardens are a horticultural delight. The real icing on the cake is of course all our chats with May. What a smashing lady.
Oh, and she now has three Alpacas.

For a 5-van Certificated Location what views this site has, very relaxing and well run ideally situated midway between Barnstaple and Bideford just off the A39 a short distance from Fremington and the Tarka Trail Cycle Route being 2 miles down the hill with the village/beach at Instow not far away.
The site is sloping on entrance to the grassy field (slightly sloping further up) with a tarmac/grit road part-way into the field. There is electric hook-ups, a wc & separate washroom by the main house, drinking water point and chemical disposal, waste and recycling bins on entrance to the field, all you need for a quiet and relaxing chill-out. Not the most ideal for teenage children, they'd probably get bored!
There is a large supermarket and fuel station with other wholesale outlets within a 10 minute drive. Special mention of the Host, what a gem, such a lovely lady, likes meeting people, stops for a chat and really enjoys running the site which benefits it's users. This is the 2nd time we've stayed at this site and will certainly be returning again sometime with the warmer evenings sitting out enjoying the local landscape scenery sipping a glass of wine or two!

As a result of my dad's terminal illness we ended up staying here for most of April and all of May. We actually watched the daffodils come and go! As ever the brilliant charismatic May Stagg made our stay happy in spite of dad's ultimate death. The 10 amp electric hookups are more than adequate for this time of year. In January 2009 May had a brand new chemical waste disposal unit installed including a new sceptic tank. It is noteworthy that this re-sited facility is discreetly fenced off and has running water etc. Such a capital outlay probably costs the years takings but such is the desire to give her customers the best.
What a gemstone of a place!

We spent a wonderful 5 nights at this site to cycle part of the Tarka Trail, biggest problem was the uphill ride at the end of the day! Very pleasant, quiet site with wonderful views, and a very special lady as host. Very good site to cover the Tarka Trail on both sides of the estuary and also for Bideford and Barnstaple. Nearby Instow is also a pretty village. Fremington, about 1.5 miles away, is a very pleasant village with Pubs,Chinese Take-Away, and Convenience Store. We were extremely lucky with the weather and enjoyed lovely sunny days and good sunsets to end off the days. Site facilities are basic but adequate. Electric hook-ups and good value for money. Look forward to returning to this site again soon.

This is a wonderful Certificated Location two miles from Fremington and equidistant from Barnstaple and Bideford. The pretty resort of Instow is 2 miles away.
The views across the River Taw towards Chivenor are splendid, as are some of the sun sets. Set on sloping grass we had no problem levelling our twin axle. All pitches have 16 amp EHU. One tap and a chemical toilet waste disposal point. This is of the old cess pit type with a dustbin lid cover. We used this 3 times with no problems or discomfort. The site and farm house are extremely well kept by Mrs May Stagg. Her colourful flowers are a credit to her.
There is even a private WC for caravanner's use and a 'mini' wash room with basin, clean towel provided every day.
At £8.00 per night this is a real gemstone.
May Stagg is also such a helpful interesting lovely lady.
