We've been to this site years ago & loved it then. But now it's seen better days. The facilities need an upgrade. Showers were either too hot during the day that it was unusable. Or cold at night.
The campsite owner quoted us some rates on the phone but we were asked to pay more when we got there, for no apparent reason we could figure out. Also no way to book online (we know it's Sark & they like tradition but it would be easier to book & pay online 24/7).
Seems to attract a young festival crowd too now. And some weekend party goers from neighbouring Guernsey.
Not enough facilities to handle lots of drunk teen-agers at once though. They seemed to be having fun.
So if that's your thing, then it might be a great site for you. We'd hoped for something less rambunctious.
Location is ok (close to main avenue if you use the back route) & probably the best thing about this site.
We loved the island itself but next time we'll try the other campsite on the island instead.

We took our own small two man tents and equipment for four nights. As Sark has no cars and passenger only ferries from either Guernsey or Jersey we had the minimum of gear for four nights but this was no problem here. The site is just a 5-10 minute walk through beautifully wooded tracks and pathways to the fabulous Stocks Hotel which serves up morning coffee, delicious bistro or fine dining food all day in a really pleasant environment. In the other direction from the site, also just 10 minutes on foot, is the more basic, but equally characterful Bel Air pub as well as coffee shops, eateries and a mini supermarket.
On arrival we had virtually a complete field to ourselves and this lasted all four nights. An electric pump was available to blow up an air bed and the facilities were clean and adequate. The showers provided a good stream of hot water and there were no queues.
If you are bringing your own equipment it is possible to get the 'tractor' up the steep hill to the village and also to arrange for your luggage to be transported direct to the campsite from the harbour.
A lovely simple quiet site.

Just back from three nights staying in a pre-erected tent on this site - wish it had been longer.
The site is a short walk from the shops etc down a country lane but this is Sark where everybody walks or cycles. It has lovely views towards France in one direction and Jersey in another and is well placed for exploring the whole of Sark.
The tents were excellent, clean and well equipped with all you need. Jill the owner was really helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you, including supplying us with eggs.
Sark was really beautiful and we loved going back to basics with no cars- we hired bikes, and also no EHU meant we had to entertain ourselves in the evenings which was good for family relations -two teenagers with no ipods, gameboys, hair straighteners etc what a novel experience!
The shower / toilet block was clean and tidy with hot showers at all times but the sinks only had cold water so OH had to take kettle of water to sinks for shaving.
There was a washing up area and clothes lines provided for all to use.
The website really doesn't do it justice as this is overall a great site which we wouldn't hesitate to use again.

We have just enjoyed an great stay at this site on Sark. We stayed in a fully equipped family tent (easier than bringing our own one - Sark has no cars). The tent was large and had everything we needed. The toilet and shower block is well maintained. The tents are well spaced leaving a large area for the Children to play games.
The site is well situated - about a 5 min walk to the village and a 10-15 min walk to the beach. Sark is an excellent place to go with a family being really safe and without cars the Children are very safe on their bikes. We spent two weeks here and despite the small size of Sark could have stayed longer.
Fully recommend to anyone for a great holiday
