I can re-inforce all the positive comments about this site - location, cleanliness, helpfulness of staff, facilities etc - a lovely site - BUT.
The only thing to be aware of is that it is very much a predominantly French site in terms of clientèle.
We were surrounded on all sides by one big family - 5 pitches around us who had no concept of personal space and appeared to resent the English being there.
This put a damper on the whole holiday - which wasn't the fault of the site - but members should be aware of this attitude. We weren't the only to suffer this problem. We met some other English families on the site who had the same problem so it wasn't an isolated problem.
Don't get me wrong - we prefer the sites that aren't full of English - but this was the first time in ten years of travel to France that we had suffered this attitude.
If you wish to be with many other English families then don't go here - if you want to immerse your self in a French site - and the social etiquette involved then this is a great site.
We enjoyed the site - just had to deal with the issues of the clientele not appearing to want the English there.

We booked this site after a lot of research and reading a very good review on this very website.
This campsite is simply brilliant. But very French.
The campsite owners are so friendly and helpful, they even waited for us an extra hour to arrive as we had car trouble.
We have a large unit and they even assisted us with the help of two very nice English families manhandle our caravan into the best position.
The site is clean and tidy, it stocks bread and pastries daily you can order for the next day.
They have themed nights, just great, don't be afraid no matter how little French you know you will enjoy.
The showers good and kept very clean, the same with the loos - although no loo roll, take your own!
The beach is a 10 min walk, 5 min bike ride, free carpark for the car - would recommend beach shoes until the tide goes out then just prefect.
Good supermarket within easy reach on the main road.
This is a very friendly site, we are returning next year - don't let the fact that there is no English spoken here put you off - if you have a go you get there in the end!
We had a lovely fortnight - my daughter made so many friends french, english, Dutch - just perfect.
Go we cant recommend this site enough - the only down side if there is one is the noise to heard from other campsites when wind in wrong direction - didn't bother my little one in caravan at all.
Madame, came to see us the day we left and wished us a safe journey - tears all round as we drove home.

We stayed here at the end of August, beginning of September for 12 nights. Together with another family. Two children aged 12 and two aged 10.
The pitches were generous in size and quite private. All pitches had both electricity and thier own tap. The owners Mr.Et Mme Guilbert were very helpful although as we speak reasonable French we didn't test out thier English much. There was a mixture of French and English on the campsite (mostly French). Half of the site is taken up with Statics and some people seem to come often, whilst the other half is touring units.
The toilets, showers and washing facities were always spotless, with plenty of hot water. The site was busy although not full, for the first week, although it was never a problem showering or from a cleanliness point of view.
There was a bread depot for bread each day and a pizza and crepe van visits a couple of times a week.
The beach is beautiful and within easy walking distance from the site through a small pine forest and across dunes. The nearest small supermarket is on the route to the beach.Handy but a bit more expensive although their is a Super-U not much further down the road.
The area was great with plenty to do.
We loved La Grand Parc at Puy de Fou, about an hour away. Futuroscope (use your Tesco clubcard deals for tickets) is about 2 hours away but worth the effort.
We would definitly visit this site again.
It has a countryside feel, having a small fishing lake and lots of wildlife (which did visit the tent from time to time in the night) but is also in close proximity to a great beach. Our stay would have been perfect were it not for the football songs we could hear in the early hours from the English pub 1/2 a km away and some of the nearby sites. We did get used to this and it stopped abruptly at the end of August, we almost missed it when it was gone!
However the weather stayed kind into early September (around 25-27 most days).
There was a kids club and the average age range seemed to be around 8, I heard French and English children organising a game of catch and they seemed to be doing just fine with the language. The pool is adequate but not over exciting with a slide and a paddling pool alongside.
The bar did close for the last few days of our stay but we could not blame them, there really was so little custom. This is a peaceful site, good for families as it had a safe feel but not for you if you like a loud nightlife, although there are plenty of others in the area that would offer that.
We paid 318 euros for 12 nights including electricty, which seemed like a bargain to us.
Just one other thing, don't forget your toilet roll, it is not supplied.

This was our first family trip to France.
This is a mainly French site, with maybe 5-10% Brits, but there were enough for our children to make lots of friends, and my 9 year old daughter even joined in playing 'it' with the French children!
The site is just off the main St jean de Monts- St hilaire road (unlike some of the bigger sites which were right on this busy road), and is a 10 min stroll to a lovely sandy beach, although we drove, as there is free parking and we had loads to carry! There are life guards on most of the beaches along this stretch of coast, which proved invaluable when we lost our 3 year old on the beach( we found him with help from their binoculars, he was fine, I was not!)
The pitches were all generous, we asked for a large pitch as we have a Hartford XXl, and were given corner plot 24, which was huge. All pitches have hook up.
The toilets were modern, no toilet roll and only 1 out of 8 had a seat, but they were clean, and the showers were immaculate, with individual cubicles for basins. Washing up area was also very modern and clean.
There was a nice basic play park, with swings and climbing frame, surrounded by sand. There is a bar and a children's club, but this was in French so we didn't use it, apart from the disco, which my daughter enjoyed, otherwise this is a quiet site entertainment wise, although we could hear some noise from neighbouring sites. There is also a fenced off fishing lake, and therefore quite a bit of wildlife-ducks, water voles, etc
There is a small shop selling croissants and bread in the mornings, and a freezer for ice blocks. Most nights a takeaway van visits the site in high season. There is a large supermarket 5 mins away by car.
The owners are very friendly, their English is limited (as was our French!) but we coped ok.
Days out we really enjoyed were The Velio Rail at Commeques (pedalling along an old railway), Parc Des Dunes at Brem (fab old fashioned theme park with toboggans, slides, golf and go karts), and Atlantic Toboggan water park. Get a copy of Angela Bird's guide to The Vendee, it was invaluable.
This is a great site if you don't want loads of Brits and Entertainment. We booked direct, you can book through Select Sites but this is more expensive. Our 2 weeks in August coast £430. One more tip, try to avoid travelling on the saturday change over days, the roads around St jean de Monts are v busy.
