 As an update to the other review for this site - We chose this site on our way back from the South as it is an ACSI site and was open later in the year. The site was very much on the wind down but met our needs. The reception was on limited hours and they did have a few groceries/beer etc. , for sale.
Could be tight for larger units in certain areas of the site because of the greenery and trees (perhaps not so over grown earlier in season) but pitches were of good size. There is lots of shade here.
We only spent a few days here but the site was good for our style of holiday, we could cycle in safety around the area. By turning left out of the site along a quiet road you can cycle to Argentat which is beautifully positioned alongside the Dordogne.
The indoor swimming pool is a great bonus and was open from 9am to 9pm every day. Given the time of year very under used and we had it to ourselves both times we used it. The toilets and shower cubicles were some of the biggest we have ever seen and certainly clean and tidy enough.
One word of warning - if your visit is later in the year be aware that the site is positioned under lots of walnut and chestnut trees that will bombard you especially during the night! - some of the site was roped off for the owner to retrieve their nuts. Obviously earlier in the year this wouldn't be an issue hopefully.
All that said good site in great position and would definitely use it again. Rating we have given is mainly due to end of season situation and not being able to comment on the other facilities offered.

This campsite is next to the river Dordogne amongst the trees in a beautiful area. It is close to the D12 across a single track bridge, big enough for a caravan to cross, close to Argentat with shops and a market.
The Reception has lots of information with very helpful and friendly staff, that is open most of the day. There is a bar, restaurant and takeaway with English spoken. The shop is open for a couple of hours in the morning and evening.
There is a pool and they are building an indoor pool. You can hire canoes from the site with regular pick up along the river. So you can leave the site at any time. You can hire bikes and pick up maps for mountain bike routes. Also there is mini golf, next to a play area, football and basketball pitch. Not forgetting the gym. We only stayed for a couple of days so didn't manage to do any activities other than canoeing. We wished we were staying longer!
The toilets and showers were clean with plenty of hot water. You will need toilet roll, there are some hole in the ground toilets, as well as standard ones within the same block.
The pitches were of a good size, with plenty of multi hook-ups but the site was somewhat cramped with over hanging trees and bushes. This makes it interesting for anyone towing a caravan. I wouldn't recommend a twin axle caravan to this site. Oh and if you do visit this site, be prepared for the early morning cockerels!
