Agree with other reviews that this is a busy, crowded site, but convenient for visiting the lovely area - Lindau Island, Bregenz, Lake Constanz/Bodensee, Leichtenstein and countryside. Free bus/ tourist discount pass issued at reception. No Visa cards, only Maestro, so had to pay cash. Bar set up by the lake. Grass area is a bit rough and beach is stony and grubby. Sunsets over lake lovely but mosquitoes were numerous. Music some nights by lake until 11. 00 could be loud. Facilities clean. Site lighting very poor.
Pitch size a problem to us. We arrived at 2pm. Several people queuing and looking. We were given a map, told to choose some possible pitches. Even our best option was difficult to get onto with motor mover and there was no room for the car. Parked out of the way near small toilet block and got shouted at on two days by another camper. Pleasant permanent camper nearby told us we could park on her friend's empty pitch. Rude note on windscreen the next morning!
The gate needs a magnetic key (10euro deposit) which we were not told about on arrival. The reception staff just raised the barrier as we approached. Day 5, a different person, that did not happen and I was harangued in German about the need for a key! Map had site rules in German but no other languages at all. Felt most unwelcome.
If you go, arrive in the morning. We saw people were being turned away in late afternoon and campervan overflow seemed to be used for permanent parking. No pre-booking. Saw no other English on site all week. It was a convenient place to park but, for us, not a happy site to enjoy.

This is a large, busy campsite sited right on the edge of Bodensee. The facilities are good and kept clean. It's not a particularly 'charming' site but it was a good base to stay and access to the lake from on site was good to have. There's also a cycle route directly outside the site - unfortunately we weren't able to hire bikes for our children there (they had plenty of adult bikes, just none left that were small enough). The surrounding area is quite urban - Lindau island is definitely worth a visit, but I probably wouldn't stay longer than a couple of days (as we did) as I prefer somewhere a bit more peaceful for a longer stay.

To find site:- Leave A96 at junction 2 signed for Lindau. At roundabout follow campsite signs. Park Camping is just before the Austrian border, you turn right off of Bregenzerstrassa into the road that leads to the campsite. This road will have cars parked but there is plenty of room. Immediately before the campsite entrance is a level crossing so make sure you can completely cross before proceeding.
Park Camping Lindau is situated on the shore of the Bodensee between Lindau and Bregenz a short distance from the Austrian border. This busy site has around 270 pitches of which about a quarter are taken by permanent vans. There is a choice between fully serviced pitches (at an extra charge of €2) and standard ones, there is no difference in size. In addition there are two separate areas for tents. Electric supply is 16 amps. Reception has local information although not much in English. Across the road from reception is a quite well stocked shop plus bar/restaurant. Behind reception is the main toilet block which is to an excellent standard including laundry facilities. There is a large covered area for washing dishes and preparing meals with coin operated hobs. Further into the site is a second block of toilets only. T-Mobile have a hotspot on this campsite which you can sign up to online. Payment can be made by Maestro card. The railway runs along the top end of the site so there is some noise but not particularly obtrusive.
There are many opportunities for excursions from this campsite with Lindau and the island of Insel (well worth a visit) only a few miles away. The rest of the Bodensee is also there to explore. However be aware that both Austria and Switzerland border the lake and if you drive on the motorways in either country you will require a Vignette, ordinary roads don't require the Vignette. To fill up the car its well worth going over the border into Austria where, diesel particularly, is cheaper than in Germany.
