Beautifully located site, engulfed in panoramic views which became even greater should you choose to stroll up the woods situated just outside of the farm lane.
Excellent value for money. Nessie & John were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and made our whole experience there an even greater pleasure. Ideally situated for many of the wonderful nature adventures that Dumfries & Galloway has to offer.
The site itself was quiet, clean and filled with a unique down to earth charm. Adjacent fields of sheep and little lambs were a joy to spend some time observing.
Overall, this site is one of the best we have ever visited in over 35 years of camping.

This is a very pretty little site, very quiet and remote and plenty space between pitches. There's walking from the door, far reaching views of D&G, picturesque farmhouse and lots and lots of bird life. We were allowed a fire in a firepit which is always a bonus if you like to sit out on a chilly night. Super relaxing time.
The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming too.
If like us you have a motorhome but want to get out and about, the walk to the bus stop is about a mile away along a quiet straight country road. The bus in to dumfries takes 15 minutes or so. In Dumfries we enjoyed a beautiful lunch in the riverside cafe and took the kid to a really well equipped play park with new play equipment, crazy golf, trampolines and bowls! This was on the newly redeveloped riverside. Then we went to Robert Burns' house and the nearby mausoleum which was an interesting afternoon. There's a lidl nearby for stocking up!
All in all, a highly recommended site!

This C. L. Site is a gem which would be nice to keep secret but we had such a warm and helpful welcome that it wouldn't be fair not to share it.
The site is small but with plenty space between units. It is so quiet and the views are amazing.
Dogs are made welcome and there is an ample area to exercise them. It is lovely to walk up the lane and into the small wood and Nessie will also advise which fields are available for visitors to use.
There is a long single lane and road farm track but it is quiet and has clear vision so ample time to position your unit to allow any oncoming traffic to pass.
The area around is easily accessible and Nessie provides an extensive information pack and parking disc. We had a weekend there with our two dogs and have promised ourselves a week return visit next Sping.
We were lucky and had super clear crisp weather watched all the fireworks over Dumfries from the top of the lane and the following evening the sunset was wonderful.

We have just returned from one of the most relaxing weekends away at this thoroughly recommended camp site. The owners were welcoming and helpful on arrival greeting us with a comprehensive pack of information about the area and local events taking place. We were delighted to find there was free wifi. The site accommodated 5 units with plenty of space between, very peaceful with beautiful views but only 4 miles from Dumfries and Lochmaben. We wifi definitely be returning.

Site with plenty of space, slightly sloping, so not boggy although grass was soft enough (thanks to plentiful rain) that the steps sank in a bit. Water tap didn't have much pressure so a bit slow to fill aquroll. TV reception and wifi fine. Had we brought the dogs there is always a wood they can run in and in Autumn there are other fields available - just check which ones. Directions given to site very clear, with sufficient detail you know you have found the right junction. Owners have an information pack loaned to each pitch which includes a parking disc which is required in local towns. We will be back next year.

We are just back from a 3 night stay at this CL. This was our first venture into using a CL and I can wholeheartedly say it was an excellent choice.
The approach to the CL is a little nerve-racking as it is along a narrow lane but it is well worth the effort. The views from the site are quite spectacular.
The site is a small field on a slight slope. There is plenty of space between the pitches. There are EHU points, basic water and waste disposal areas. TV and radio reception was good and there is also free wifi available. All for £10 a night.
The owners were very pleasant and helpful and gave us a very comprehensive information pack about things to do in the local area.
The site was very peaceful and quite yet only 4 miles from Dumfries with its wide range of shops and restaurants.
We shall certainly be returning.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Site a large slightly sloping field all grass. Really good spaces between caravans. Outlook lovely over surrounding countryside. There is a couple miles of narrow road to the site but fairly straight to see oncoming traffic and plenty passing places.
The site is basic with electrics, water and waste disposal but very quiet which is what we love.
Tv reception very good and we used our freeview instead of satellite.
Lovely weekend for £16 for 2 adults, a child and electrics
