 Stayed 4 nights at Les Salieres last summer and just booking to return in July this year. There are two camping areas among the bungalows. We prefer the one by the bar and small pool area but the second, near the tennis courts, is undoubtably quieter. Both are well shaded under massive fir trees. Reception were helpful but you will need a little Frenxh. The bar/snack bar staff are lovely - all are really helpful. Great shower blocks and spotless toilets.
This is a very French site - we were the only UK visitors when we stayed. Ile de Re and St Martin especially is so relaxing - well worth a short detour over the bridge for a few days but save a day for La Rochelle when you move on.

We found this campsite to be a really good base for exploring the Ile de Ré, being roughly equidistant between St Martin de Ré and La Flotte. It consists mainly of chalets, with just a small area for tourers (but nice and shady, and EHU is free of charge, or included in the price- whichever way you look at it!).
It's incredibly peaceful and quiet here- little extraneous noise, and although fairly busy when we were here, everybody was very quiet and considerate. There are loads of loo blocks with 'proper' loos, free temperature-controllable showers and washing-up sinks with good hot water.
Facilities include tennis, boules and volleyball courts, a swimming pool, bike hire (€152 deposit each, and the actual hire charges were very competitive) and a bar. The staff are friendly and helpful, but I don't know whether they speak English.
It took us exactly 20 minutes to walk into St Martin from the campsite, but much closer at hand are a boulangerie and an Intermarché (including petrol- low prices when we were there). The Ile de Ré itself is absolutely lovely and when we go back, we will definitely try to get in at Les Salieres.
