 This is not a campsite I would recommend or return to. Essentially a huge static park (I would never have found the tent again without OH), it has a nice enough area for tourers, and is very hot on security, with code-operated barriers to get onto or off the site, but the facilities are so poor that a stay here could only be acceptable if you had your own.
The loos (Turkish style) are old and dirty, there is no hot water provided to wash either your hands or your dishes and- exceptionally meanly- the shower block is locked at 8pm every evening (with no notice on the door to warn you that this is the case). As the bar also closes at 8pm, we went out into nearby Cayeux (that was closed, too, so we ended up in St Valéry sur Somme) for a drink, and when we got back, the entrance barrier was down- again, something about which there'd been no warning. Luckily, we could drive in through the exit.
However, all of the above pales in comparison with the night noise. This site suffers from its proximity to a large quarry, which apparently starts work at 3am, and to the Maison des Oiseaux (House of Birds). So if it wasn't the industrial plant crashing buckets of gravel onto the ground disturbing our sleep, then it was the screech owls.
Thank heavens we were only staying here for one night- if I'd booked the place for a week, I would honestly have cried!
Oh- and the staff aren't particularly friendly, either.
