We chose this site originally due to its proximity to the Puy du Fou and intended to stay 3 nights which is usually plenty for us. We ended up staying 5 nights and would have happily have stayed for longer had it been possible.
The reception staff were lovely and welcoming and spoke excellent English. The bar staff were equally warm and the food in the bar was great. We don't normally utilise campsite bars but we went for a cold beer on our first night and enjoyed the company so much we went another couple of nights.
The pool is a municipal and it has to be one of the best I've been in. It was spotlessly clean and the water was surprisingly warm for the beginning of the season.
There is fishing available in the lake across the road and if you're staying at the site you are allowed to fish there.
There are numerous circular walks from the site which we cycled around. There were so many beautiful secret spots dotted around here so well worth the wander.
The loo and shower block were spotless. The showers were push button types and the only criticism was that you couldn't alter the temperature and the water was a little hot.
The placements vary with some having lots of shade and others not so much but they are all of a good size.
Overall this is a lovely site and one day we might just go back.

We stayed for 4 days at Camping de la Breteche which is on the edge of the village of Les Epesses. The site is very pleasant with a small lake near the entrance with picnic tables. The site's small restaurant, also, overlooks the lake. The municipal heated open-air swimming pool is adjacent to the site and free entry is included in the campsite price.
The site, also, has a small playground and an excellent sanitary block. We were given a very large, fully serviced pitch (water tap, waste grid and 10 amp electricity). The pitches are all hedged but not all are full-service. We paid 73. 92 Euros for our 4 night stay. The receptionists both spoke excellent English.
The site is very well placed for visiting Parc Puy Du Fou as it is a 10 minute drive away. We were able to drive back to the site at the end of the day and have tea before returning for the Cinescene. The site leaves the barrier open on PDF Cinescene nights too. The site did sell tickets for PDF but these included a mark up.
The village of Les Epesses has a few shops and a bank and a small supermarket with petrol station. Les Herbiers about 5 miles away is a large town with lots of hypermarkets and a Lidl in retail parks around its fringe. The campsite receptionist recommended a study centre in Les Herbiers which gave me free interent access, not wireless.
The reason for our stay at Camping Le Breteche was to visit Parc Puy Du Fou. PDF was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. The shows were stupendous particularly the Vikings, with full size longships, and Roman ampitheatre with lions, tiger, chariots, etc. We carefully planned our day using the provided timetable and managed to get to all the daytime shows.
The Cinescene production was truly spectacular with incredible choreography and effects. Our children have grown up and so there was just the 2 of us, but it was a long day with a lot of walking as the Parc is very large. There was, however, no queuing and we were only turned away from one show because it was full, we got in later. The Parc is very pleasant with lots of shade and we took a picnic. We hired a radio translator which translated the commentary of the Cinescene and main day time shows into English.
We got the shared receiver with 2 sets of headphones but I suspect that you could take your own second set of headphones (with mini jack plug) and plug those into the single 'box' and save yourself a few euros.
If going to PDF I would recommend that you buy tickets well in advance. It was the last weekend of the season for the Ciniscene production when we went. We booked by phone about a week in advance, we were put onto an operator who spoke excellent English. By that time all the Friday and Saturday night seats had gone and the only places available were on the steps on Saturday. This was literally as it sounds.
We were seated on the concrete steps leading to the tiered seats. Someone on another web site warned that the seats were hard and to take a cushion. We took pillows and were very glad that we did. It was a bit of a cheek really as there was no reduction in price for sitting on the seats. We would, also, advise you to wear something warm if you go to Ciniscene as it gets very chilly.
We LOVED PDF and were very glad we went.
