Ideal location with a lake side pitch.
Easy walk to town for ferry, restaurants and super market.
Although dogs are welcome there is no allowance should it toilet on site even if picked up.
Motorhome drop point is difficult to negotiate.

A busy site with some access to Lake Maggiore, according to the seasonal height of the water. None for us in May, but beach access possible just a short walk away. Access fairly narrow, but OK. Apart from the ant invasion (!), we were happy here for 6 nights. Everyone arriving is personally shown possible pitches to select. Lakeside ones cost more. At weekends, and probably high season, they seem to cram in extra camper vans very close to other outfits. Very friendly, helpful staff try to accommodate everyone, it seems. Small playground but no space for running around, or ball games. No shop, just ice-creams/wine/drinks.
Short walk to town, supermarket, restaurants and (most important) a good ice-cream shop and the boat station. Lots of ferries and boats around Maggiore. Lake-front craft-type market on Sunday in May. Baveno is a quietish place and not as tourist-y as Stresa.
15 minutes walk to train station if using the well-marketed Maggiore Express. We were sadly disappointed, but it all depends on what other spectacular railways and mountain roads you have previously used. Sit on R. Side of train out of Domodossola. Consider booking; the train was full in May. Locarno is nice enough but maybe take a book for the 3 hour boat ride back.

On the whole we had a lovely holiday on Lake Maggiore and think this campsite is ideally located to help explore the area. The campsite is right on the lake and you can go swimming or launch boats from the jetty - I was pleasantly surprised that the lake wasn't that cold for swimming though that could be because it was July.
It is a 10 minute walk from the ferries that go across the lake and 15 minute walk from the train station with trains running direct to other towns along the lake and Milan, which made for an interesting day out when we fancied a break from water. There is also a small supermarket at the end of the road. All this meant we barely used the car after we arrived at the campsite.
The toilet block was clean and had nice hot showers. The owners were friendly and helpful.
However there are a few issues with the campsite. Firstly as a previous poster mentioned, the pitches are absolutely tiny. We shared a terrace with two other tents and had to squeeze past their tents to get to the path; the area was really only big enough for one large tent and car not the one large and two medium tents the owners had crammed in to the space. Cars had to be parked elsewhere. We couldn't peg our tent out properly as we were touching the walls of the terraces above us on two sides and had a drop down to the terrace below in front of us. This proved problematic during a huge storm one night where we had to literally hold the tent down. Secondly, the mosquitoes are ruthless! We got bitten repeatedly and had to slap on the insect repellant very early in the evening to avoid to many bites.
I think there might also be a problem if you are travelling with children as there is no play area, table tennis etc to entertain them and, as mentioned, small pitches so little room to run around.
It is a good choice for exploring the area and it was nice to be on the lake but just be prepared to get to know your neighbours very well!

Leaving aside our liking for Italy and the lakes especially. We found this site our first camp site in Italy to be;
Toilet block was clean and always clean, the showers were fine for washing but a little small for drying in as one had to use the same space, there was no area at the end. There were some giant insects as one would expect at night but they never bothered us.
There was a small children's play area but we avoided that as we have none! The Lake seemed enough for the ones on site.
The situation could hardly have been better, direct access to the Lake from a small jetty, boat hire on site. 3 or 4 mins to the supermarket at one end of the town, 2/3 mins in the opposite direction to Town with enough shops, bars and restaurants.
From the Town square one could catch a ferry to almost anywhere on the Lake, a bus to the same destinations, too many to review here, a short walk up the hill took one to the railway station and the rest of Italy, we visited Milan on a day return for around £12 each in a clean air-conditioned train.
We had a pitch right on the Lakeside that we booked in advance. Stephania and Pierla both spoke good English and put up with my Italian.
I will revisit this site one day, the only reason for not going back next year is the fact that there is so much to see in Italy.

A very convenient site for lake Maggiore. A stones throw from Baveno with it's many bars and restaurants. A lovely place to enjoy a cool Peroni and watch the people go by!
Situated very close to the shore of lake Maggiore with a footpath leading down to the beach.
The site is hidden away between some houses and a hotel. Access for caravans is tight; a narrow street with a couple of right angle corners to negotiate.
The site is very crowded in high season, do not expect the acres of room we enjoy on UK sites! We just managed to squeeze our tent in behind the toilet block!
The toilets and showers were spotless even though the site was packed full. The staff we spoke to all spoke very good English. A number of UK visitors with tents and motorhomes were there when we stayed.
A nice site with a great atmosphere.
