It was a pleasure reading the earlier reviews and noting that not a lot has changed over the years. They have managed to maintain their high standards.
The site is large and contains many different types of accommodation including Eurocamp Mobile homes, which we stayed in, and several other companies who's names I did not recognise. Which probably means that this type of holiday is gaining in popularity in other countries as well.
Excellent facilities include an on-site supermarket which was only a little more expensive than local supermarkets, two restaurants, a takeaway, bar, shops, swimming pools, sanitary blocks effectively it is a small village and you would not have to leave the site if you didn’t want too.
The Restaurant La Terrassa is spotlessly clean and reasonably priced. There are several restaurants and bars along the beach which are well worth visiting for a decent coffee to an ice cold beer as you watch the sun go down or an excellent Paella.
The railway that was mentioned in one of the other very informative reviews has had the tracks removed! I do not know if this is permanent or if it is part of some ongoing maintenance. Perhaps reviewers in the future will be able to up date us.
Staff are very friendly and security is good and there is a good mix of European visitors with the Germans and Dutch being in the majority. During our stay most of the Brits and Irish that we met were staying in the Eurocamp caravans.
We enjoyed our stay and the children absolutely loved it!
We will definitely return and we are very happy to recommend it.

Playa Montroig is a large campsite situated on the Costa Daurada which has direct access to a sandy beach. Access is straightforward, from the North after leaving the AP7 Motorway take the N340 south and you will pass several campsites before coming to Playa Montroig. The campsite has its own slip road which you take and pass back under the N340 and up to the reception area.
There are various pitch types but the nearer to the beach you are the more you will pay especially as most have water and waste. Electricity is rated a 10 amps and is usually located in a box in the vicinity of your pitch. Pitches also vary greatly in size but tend to be on the small side so our recommendation would be to park up and go have a look first. We were not happy with our allocation so we noted a couple of others we did like and they had no problem re-allocating us. Access to a lot of the pitches can be tight so if you have a motor mover all the better but everyone staying there seemed happy to help to push your van if needed.
The site is large and contains many different types of accommodation including Eurocamp Mobile homes. Excellent facilities include an on-site supermarket, two restaurants, bar, shops, swimming pools, sanitary blocks effectively it is a small village and you would not have to leave the site if you didn’t want too. The Restaurant La Terrassa is the best we have ever had a meal in on a camp site!
The only downside to this camp site is the fact that a railway runs through, literally! However it was not very busy and did not bother us or anyone else we spoke too. On leaving the reception you actually drive under the railway to get to most of the pitches and it can be a bit tight driving around the site if you have a large outfit.
Staff are very friendly and security is good and there is a good mix of European visitors with the Germans and Dutch being in the majority but strangely not many Brits. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return so we would recommend it.

For the past 30 odd years I've been meaning to go back to this site, first visited in 1975 aged 5. Even then this site was special and as children we always wanted to go back. We did another 3 times, last visit 1981.
Fast forward to 2013 I decided to remake the journey (Calais to Cambrils) with my own children, and I'm happy to say this site is still the best.
We stayed on a Standard Deluxe plot on one of the palm tree avenues down to the beach. Lovely location with plenty of Spanish campers in nearby plots. The site has a wonderful European mix of visitors, which is always a plus.
Plenty to do on site. Lovely sandy beach and the sea seemed to change every day, small waves one day to larger ones the next, kept the kids busy with body boards etc. Fantastic Pools with fun slides which never seemed over crowded.
Facilities on site are amazing and always kept immaculate. Prices in the bars, restaurants and shops are very reasonable and not over inflated, hence why many guests stayed on site.
All Staff seemed very helpful and friendly.
This site is so good, we are planning on returning next year :)

We embarked on the 960 mile journey for Spain to take in the Premium Plus (beach fronted) pitch for 2 weeks in the Spanish sun. We were not disappointed either.
The site is immaculately clean and tidy with staff working 24/7. Security patrols on site all night and no noise.
There are 5 large swimming pools with overall 7 slides/flumes to keep the children amused. The Kids club (4-12) was very well run and our boys (8, 7 and 4) attended a few sessions, taking part of Table Tennis, Mini Golf and Olympic Games competitions. There was also a treasure hunt around the park.
A large and well stocked privately franchised supermarket on site, prices only around 10cents higher than Aldi/Lidl etc. Best of all was the Boulangerie on site - cakes to die for!
There was a large Dutch and German presence on the site, always a good sign from our experience.
The sandy beach was heavenly and only 2m from the edge of pitch. We woke up every morning to the view of blue skies and the sea rolling in. The water is very shallow enabling our children to walk around 20m out until it reached their waist.
We enjoyed this site so much we have already booked to return next year.
