Good location, with the added interest of a collection of 'artefacts', including a Scimitar aircraft awaiting conservation /restoration in the vicinity of the CS and the manor house. Peaceful - there were only 2 units present. A couple of pubs are within a mile or so although we failed to find them on foot, despite instructions offered by the owner! More research needed beforehand! A clean wc and wash basin is available. The nearby town of Romsey is also well worth a visit. Deep water nearby (for fishing) makes the site unsuitable for children, and the prospect of sheep grazing nearby means dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, if they are allowed onto the site.

What a great little site, so peaceful, well back from any road noise. Limited facilities, water leccy and chem disposil, all that's needed really. We cycled to the Pub in the evening, cycle track all the way. Didn't try the fishing but will do next time. (We were woken at 7. 30 sunday morning to a lot of clatter, a fishing competition was on !) They were all gone 1/2 hr. Later

What a fantastic site for a short break with some great fishing thrown in for good measure!
Fantastic location in easy reach of Winchester, Portsmouth and the New Forest.
OK, so there are not a lot of facilities, just a toilet and chemical waste disposal, but our caravan served us well for all shower and bathroom needs so not really a problem.
The electrics and water are nicely laid out with two 'triple' electric points and two water taps to serve five vans. Waste water goes straight into the hedgerow so bring 4-5 meters of waste pipe if you don't want to empty your waste container.
The Royal Navy 'Supermarine Scimitar F1' parked next to our caravan was a real head turner and great for photo opportunities as did the antlered deer that strolled near us while having breakfast.
And as for the fishing, if you are a 'leisure' angler like myself you will be amazed at catching at least a fish every five minutes in the 6-10 lb range. I must have caught well over a quarter ton of fish during my stay.
£12. 50 a night for the van and electrics and £5 a day for the fishing. Fantastic value!
Will definitely be going there again!

Stayed here at very short notice due to lovely weekend weather.
Owners very accommodating and welcoming. Beautiful quiet site that ticked all the boxes for us and our dog, nice woodland walk although it have been lovely if this was longer.
Facilities minimal such as no washrooms or showers but that wasn't a problem for us as we had every thing we needed.
The website gives excellent information so there were no surprises other than the enormous Navy Aircraft jet which is on site!( nice photo opportunity!)
Would and will most definitely visit again.

Just got home from a wonderful break at this place, it was great for fishing my husband caught 27 carp in 3 hours but there were people who caught more than that it was amazing.
Very nice views around the grounds. The owner was very accommodating when we arrived the pitch was flooded so she offered us a hardstand elsewhere which was really good.
Peace and quiet. Before we left we booked again for the following weekend looking forward to it.
Best cl we have stayed at. We knew they didn't have showers, just a toilet but that wasn't a problem we used our own.

Hampshire DA held a rally here and I was the steward, over the rally period of 10 days we had 82 units visiting which included caravans, motorhome and trailer tents I did not receive any complaints at all from those camping in fact there was plenty of praise.
I found the owners very helpful and did all they could to ensure that we had a successful rally, which we did.
This is an ideal spot for those who like to fish, walk, visit the local pubs or just enjoy the surroundings.
Romsey is just 3 miles away so plenty of places to shop. I like this site so much that I have already agreed to steward the rally next year.

We had a lovely quiet stay at this adults only CL last weekend. Weather helped but the site was very peaceful and picturesque. Small field next to woodland and lakes, far enough from main Romsey to Stockbridge road to eliminate traffic noise. Facilities were minimal - electrics, water, tiny loo/basin, chemical disposal point, but not bad for a CL (5 vans max).
Local area nice for short walks including woodland (bluebells), fishing lakes and River Test. We did the cycle ride over the old Sprat and Winkle railway line. Didn't need to go on road at all from the site. Heard the cuckoo most of the weekend, and spent time watching rabbits play and feeding fish in the lakes, and a couple of very friendly horses in a nearby field. Added bonus was the view of a Spitfire and old Royal Navy Scimitar stored nearby.
If you want a quiet weekend away and are happy with your own facilities, this is one of the nicer locations. I would definitely go there again.

Not a lot to say really, level site, electricity but to use it you all have to line up against the fence. Facilities, ie. toilet, shared with fishing men, you wouldn't really want to use it. The walk through the wood is very short and you may be met by the bailiff of the next property who will make sure you don't stray onto his land.
Not a pretty site but convenient to Romsey although traffic noise can be a problem.
Would not go back.
