This site review needs to be taken in context of our stay and is not a comprehensive review. We were attending the French F1 Grand Prix at Paul Ricard and was using this site as a base. So for most of the day we were away at the track from the morning and returned in the early evening for dinner and to sleep. There were a few people doing the same thing so we were not alone. The route to the track would normally only take about 30 minutes but with the F1 in town is was closer to 2 hours.

The welcome at reception was good and the guy fully explained what was available and how the ANPR gates into the camp worked with the entry/exit times. The camp appears to be located in amongst residential houses and was generally quiet. Our pitch (#150) was the worst I've ever camped on as it was devoid of any grass and 'earthy' which got a bit muddy when it rained. Probably the worst part was a raised manhole with a lose metal cover close to the centre of the pitch which was impossible to avoid by hiding it under our car and we had to have it in the seating area of our tent. For motorhomes ot caravanners this might not be a problem. This pitch was behind the automatic gates and so we heard the gate lower everytime it operated. We also experienced an intruder in our tent in the early hours who I chased out - this was reported to reception who said they would inform the security team. Nothing stolen as all valuables were locked away.

The swimming pool was really good and open late so we could cool off at the end of the day. Showers and toilets are all very modern and kept clean. We didn't use the bar, shop or restaurant so won't offer an opinion on those.

Overall the site is very well maintained and would be somewhere I would return to.

Small pitch sizes but can fit caravan, awning and car.

Petrol, bolangerie, butchers within 300mtrs

Shower block good equipped with hair drier points and basins within the shower cubicles

Washing machines dispense detergent

Free wi fi at reception.

20 minute downhill into town.

The harbour of Sanary Sur Mer was beautiful with many seafood restaurants.

Well worth a visit.

Would stay again.

A well run site with extremely helpful staff. Within 20 minutes walking distance of the lovely town of Sanary sur Mer which has many varied shops and restaurants. Bus stops, and shops (including an excellent butchers) nearby.

The facilities have significantly changed since the last review a few years ago. Modern toilet/washing block with some of the hottest water we’ve experienced on our 5 week trip staying at a number of sites. Good sized pitches with easy access, electricity, water and grey waste disposal.

30 minutes free wifi at reception each day. Otherwise paid for on pitch which while reasonable signal is on the expensive side.

This is a fairly small site with about 80 pitches and quite a lot of bungalows. The pitches are level and mostly bare earth, which can be muddy after heavy rain, but than drain quite quickly. The pitches are divided by hedges and are medium-sized, with room for a caravan and car, or caravan and awning, but not both. There are plenty of trees for shade.

The single sanitary block doesn't look impressive from the outside but is excellent inside - modern, smart and clean. Loos have seats and paper, and when you flush, the seats are automatically disinfected and dried! The showers are unisex and cubicles are a good size. Some have washbasins in the cubicle as well. They are push-button with controllable temperature, and there are some specially for children.

There are some washing-up sinks outside but under cover, and some more in an enclosed room with laundry sinks, washers and dryer. A wash costs 5. 50 euros including soap. Wifi is available throughout the site but is quite expensive.

The restaurant and shop were closed as it was late in the season, but the swimming pool was still open and looked very nice.

The small town/fishing port of Sanary-sur-Mer is very attractive, with a busy harbour, a fish market, lots of cafes and restaurants. Beyond the harbour is a pleasant beach.

It takes 15-20 minutes to walk into town from the campsite. There are a couple of other beaches within walking distance, one stony, one sandy (La Gorguette. ) Inland it's worth driving up Le Gros Cerveau for some wonderful views down to Toulon and the coast.

This is an area of the French coast we had never visited before and we found it very pleasant and refreshingly uncommercialised.
