We arrived at this site for a weeks stay with our 3 teenage children. The receptionist was very friendly and very informative and spoke very good English. We were given a choice of pitches as the site was not to busy and found an excellent very large pitch which suited us. Water and electricity points at the pitch and toilet blocks nearby. Continental hook ups. The pitches were well shaded with trees and divided by hedges and trees. There was a variety of toilet blocks old and new some in need of refurbishment. The pool was used well by our kids and the play area also. Ping Pong tables were provided. There was a good shop on site with fresh bread and a very nice looking restaurant and bar. The views from the site were tremendous, with wonderful sunsets. A 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive takes you to the large Casino supermarket, nearby and a 15 minute walk gets you into the town centre of Castellane. I would recommend canoeing at Lac Castillon a 10 minute drive from the site. Blue turquoise water and very cheap prices. There are picnic tables here also. If you are towing or driving a motorhome and coming from the north I would recommend when you get to Barreme you take the N202 via St Andre Les Alps road which is flat and avoids the high mountain pass on the Route National and is only 6 miles longer.
I would certainly return to this site if in Castellane.

Great site, its a beautiful trip to it through the hills and mountains, worth taking your time to review the countryside. Easy to find. Booked in and down to the pitch which had a large slope but that was ok. Great swimming pool but you have to wear speedos. Its a nice quiet site. The bar and restaurant has great food and were very friendly. Also the food is well priced to make you come back to the site. Its a great base for Monaco, st tropez and Cannes. Down the road is a interesting Citroen museum ( it really is good ) and when you sit in the restaurant at night there is a great view of the church on the hill in the distance. There is a intermache nearby which has fuel as well but the camp site shop is really well priced.

This site is easy to find, approaching the town of Castellane on the RN85, it's a turn left off this road, if approaching from the north. The road is VERY winding and mountainous and I don't think it would be a very good idea for an inexperienced caravan tower to attempt it. There are wonderful views for the passenger(s). It's the only towable road to Castellane. The town and it's surroundings are very beautiful, with the famous Verdon Gorges close at hand. The drive up around Lake Castillon is also worth the while.
The site is level, has individual hedged pitches, plenty of loos and showers, including disabled, a swimmimg pool and bread ordering. There is a shop, bar and pizzeria open in high season and the people in reception are welcoming. It accepts Camping Cheques in low season. Not far towards the town is a Casino supermaket (very cheap vodka, think it may have been incorrectly labelled), and the cheapest fuel around.

I enjoyed fully the free services of communications : 4 free phone sets to call landlines all over Europe including the UK, free wifi all over the site and free PCs on line to check emails. Quite a treat for retired or non-retired tourists.
Besides, good service at reception, shop well attended (with 20+ types of beer covering Dutch and German brands)
Value for money restaurant starting with Pizza at price of 7.50e. A piece in 2009
