Once again after a two year gap we had a good stay here on our favourite pitch! The staff are great fun and very welcoming. The pool was Very welcome in the heat! We had a good meal in the restaurant but didn't try the pizzas this time. The sanitaires were fine and clean. We will return on our travels through France!
An ACSI site.

We stayed here for five nights. It is a peaceful site in a rural setting, just 2. 5km from the very attractive village of Saint Cirq Lapopie. Most of the pitches are placed under trees in an oak wood, many set on individual terraces between the trees. Some pitches are very small and some have no views of the surrounding countryside. Some also have long runs to the electricity distribution points, so if offered, do take the opportunity to look around before choosing your pitch. Please also note that the site has ‘old style’ electricity outlets and an adaptor will be required. The wash-blocks are clean, but a little rudimentary. Some of the showers have very rapid shut-off taps and the water temperature was unpredictable, sometimes being quite cool and sometimes scalding hot, making shower-time a bit of a challenge. However, if you can tolerate these shortcomings, the site has a very pleasant, laid-back atmosphere and the little bar/restaurant serves a limited range of local dishes to an exceptionally high standard for a campsite, arguably the best we have come across. Things like pizzas are also available. Set looking across the pool and the grassy bowl which encircles the recreation area, the views across the campsite from the restaurant terrace are very pleasant. A few pitches alongside this grassy bowl appear to be reserved for families with children, who can play in the well-equipped adventure playground, swings, trampolines and an attractive little swimming pool.
There are loads of things to do in this area. If you like walking, Saint Cirq Lapopie can be reached directly from the campsite and if you can find it, the Chemin des Brigands offers a handy footpath through the forest rather than the long way around on the road. Ask the friendly campsite staff for directions. Also nearby is a lovely walk along the river Lot from Bouziès which follows a tow-path cut into the limestone cliffs. The caves and Neanderthal paintings at Pech Merle are also not to be missed.
Finally, a warning – when we were there, the bridge at Vers was closed, causing us a 1-hour diversion on our way north. Check if you can.

We returned after a two year gap and it is just as lovely! We could pitch where we wanted and chose one we had had our eye on in 2013! The new office means there is now room for a pizza kitchen which we enjoyed! The pool is a real sun trap. It is possible to walk into St Cirq Lapopie from the site and there are other walks which you can pick up in reception. The sanitaires are always clean. We saw the Roman bridge at Cahors this time which is well worth the trip. One of our favourite sites. An ACSI site in June.

This is a lovely campsite in a beautiful, quiet area. The toilets and showers were always clean, even in high season. The pool area is small but also well kept. In high season there are free activities for the children in the morning and livelier ones in the evening. Our 8 year old daughter enjoyed the morning ones.
The pitches are a good size, most with shade.
The pretty village of St Cirq Lapopie is beautiful and well worth a visit. The walk down is steep and the walk back up even steeper!
If you have a cool box, as we do, you have to buy frozen bottled water from the reception, you can't put your own ice packs in.
The only downside for us was that our 12 year old son was bored. There wasn't enough to keep him entertained, or any other English boys his age to hang out with.
The owners were very helpful, even providing us with a barrel of diesel, as we hadn't enough to get to the nearest petrol station, which was quite a way!

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely setting. We were invited to choose our own pitch. Terraced pitches with shade. Lovely walk to St Cirq Lapopie, if steep. Toilet block very clean. Playground lovely for children. Swimming pool area good but slippery when wet. Order bread the night before. Basics available at shop. Camping cheque and ACSI accepted out of high season. Good restaurant reasonable price, overlooking the pool. Bar is friendly. Staff have good sense of humour. We will return.

Sorry, but we found the site was not up to it's billing. Although it was quite empty, the loos were dirty (OK the weather was foul), and there was only one block available. The chemical disposable point was over-flowing. The staff, tho' reasonably welcoming initially, were 'distant' when we had our meal, and it was pretty basic. There were few reasonable paths, so one got muddy feet. A disappointing visit.

It appears things haven't changed much since 2009 - this is indeed a great site. Free to pitch wherever you please amongst the trees, there are plenty of electric hook ups although they are 6 amps and use standard plug sockets - not the blue socket.
The showers were good high pressure with lots of hot water. The shower blocks were clean at all times and the owners very helpful indeed! there is a bar on site with Wifi in the bar area (all incl). The kids playing area is overlooked by the trees and the bar area and has a number of things such as a badminton pitch and play obstacles. (static equipment) Great place to stay.

We have stayed at this site twice using Camping Cheques.
It is in an idyllic spot with spacious pitches under trees. Facilities are very good though unisex showers.Heated out of season!
The owners are very helpful and friendly, especially if you try your French. There are good walks from the site.
This site is away from any super markets so stocking up before hand and whilst touring the area is a must. WARNING: Only approach from the D911 and D42 as from St Cirq it is impossible to navigate round a very sharp hairpin bend with a caravan in tow or large motorhome. Highly recommended.
