Very clean and quiet site.
Staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. Ideally located.
Only problem was the pub was closed on a Monday and Tuesday but advertised as being open.

Please note, as of 2014 this site is under new ownership and has been refurbished. It no longer has any touring pitches, so earlier reviews relating to the touring site therefore may not reflect the current situation.

Toilet block not very good but I could see they are improving things as they go, the site is mainly static caravans and it hasn't even been a year since they opened it to tourers.
Great atmosphere in the pub very friendly - meals were excellent, really large portions and traditional pub food.
The roads leading up to the tourer field has now all been tarmacked so its all smooth and no bumps now. The site has such a fantastic atmosphere in summer, the pub gets busy with everybody out to have a nice time.
The river is brilliant too, nice to dip your fet in on those warm days or even have a swim! and the nearest shop is only a 15 minute walk away, a petrol station that sells everything you could want, or there's a bigger coop another 5 - 10 mins walk from that.
Overall its a fantastic place and very friendly, everybody is out to have a good time, we felt like we were part of a community when we stayed here - will be returning this summer!

The club house was friendly and the staff helpful. The food was good and large portions. Good bus service to Knarsborough (780 - every hour at 26mins pass) and the 1A went to Harrogate (every 1/2 hour). The toilet block was poor. Only 2 toilets and 1 shower. The pressure went when both gents and ladies were in use. Not very good. The facilities need to be improved a lot. No shop to buy items or papers. The pitches were a long way from the main entrance / reception, up on top of the hill very near a noisy road. Saying this the pitches were large and had plenty of room if you want to use a awning.

As said in previous posts a nice predominantly static site. Touring caravans pitched in the top field. It did seem a bit noisy during the night due to it being right next to the local bypass. The road leading to the touring pitches is very uneven and even though I was using a 4x4 the jockey wheel of the van made contact with the speed bumps and the lumps in the road.
Could do with levelling out a bit.
Otherwise clubhouse was friendly and the food portions were large.

Like previous post. A very nice site especially down by the river but mainly geared up for static vans
The Touring site however was still under construction or alteration when there. Still putting down shingle in some areas. A single toilet block on site with only two toilets and one shower. Although clean it could be doing with a larger block with more facilities. Very busy when the site is full
We were put down on an unused static pitch one field down from the main touring pitch area. Full service here with water electric and hose straight in the drain. However getting the van up on it was a bit of a struggle and when we got set up we were a little uneasy as our front stays where almost fully extended and the back stays hardly down. Toilet block a good 5 minutes walk from here so don't get caught out.
The road leading up to the tours could be doing with some attention. A little steep in places with lumps, bumps and pot holes. Being single track as well could present a problem if two vans are trying to pass each other. Could really be doing with a passing place and surface improvements.
Generally the site is well situated with Harrogate and Knaresborugh very close at hand and gives you a good starting place to explore surrounding areas.

Just spent a great weekend at this site,
Have to agree with everything in the previous review.
Site is not sign posted and we had trouble finding it. Roads to the touring field are a bit bumpy.
Pitches are very large with a hardcore rocky base. Toilets and showers clean, but not enough of them There is no pot washing area.
Club is a good size and well looked after everyone was friendly, we had sunday lunch in the club it was ok.
Had a great time will be going back again soon.

Disappointing facilities. Had to use my own shower and toilet in my caravan, but I could see that improvements were on going. Very rough road when driving on site - for walking on as well. Club on site was smashing very friendly good atmosphere. Nice walk into town and nice retail park a few hundred yards away. May go back when facilities improve

We did not know what to expect on this site due to there being no previous reviews but decided to give it a go.
The Lido is a predominately static caravan site, much bigger than we expected. On booking in at reception we were shown to our pitch by a guy in a 4x4. Some of the roads are quite rough.
The touring/seasonal site is at the very top of the park and on a windy day felt very exposed. There is a toilet block in this area with two toilets and one shower in the ladies and the same in the mens. These were cleaned twice a day and were perfectly adequate. Water and chemical disposal points were also located at the toilet block.
The hardstanding pitch sizes were the largest we have seen and easily took our caravan and awning and car with room to sit out too.
Walked down to the onsite pub which was very nice and reasonably priced. We were made to feel welcome by the residents, and the club is child friendly. Many weekends they have live entertainment, but not when we were there - but we played bingo!
We walked into Knaresborough, it took approx 45 mins along a very quiet road. To drive it takes 5 mins.
Nearest shop is 2mins drive from the site - a co op garage which was well stocked, but for a bigger shop we went to Sainsburys, 3 miles away in Harrogate.
We had a really nice stay, the weather turned out great, and for £15 a night all in, we would definitely return.
Just one minor point, watch out for the turn off on to the site as it is not sign posted and we missed it!

Fantastic location, nice walks all round the site. Beautiful riverside site, hilly in some places. Knaresborough only a short walk away. Pub was very good and friendly. There was only 1 shower and 2 toilets and 1 hand sink for the the whole of the tourer site which also had to include all the tourers that were staying on empty static pitches, which meant queueing for toilets and showers. Also times when there was no loo paper. We would love to return when more facilities were available
