2nd time staying on this delightful little site, to get together with my sister living locally.
A little CAMC 5 pitch site. It has a small but adequate toilet block, which was immaculate while we were there.
I cannot comment on service as there was none because booking payment etc was all online. However I did appreciate the helpfulness of all the emails received, especially the one giving directions with a map of the park (very helpful).
Bus stop at the end of the drive with 2 busses every hour (to different locations). We used that to get to centre of York.
Had taxis to and from The Cottage Inn for a delicious meal, served by the friendliest staff ever.
Lovely walk through the main site to a footpath.
The only problem with this site was the fact dog owners from a little site adjoining left dogs roam around and the dog mess was rather bad. In the dark I trod and in some right next to our motorhome and brought it indoors. Nothing to do with owners but just a little warning which might be helpful.

We last used this site over 10 years ago, pitches are level surrounded by trees main road about 100 yard's away is busy during the day but quite at night, buses run a hourly service to York but stop at 6:30, taxi £14 into York.
Toilet block is 100 yard's from pitches they were clean two showers only 1 working, shower head didn't stay up on holder so not great if you are tall. A cafe is on site open till mid afternoon.
A larger site is further down the lane there is also some rental cottages and pods,
A lot of work going on all the site which didn't bother us as we were out during the day but looks almost finished,
For £20 a night not a bad price

Booked by phone day before arrival owner very pleasant. When arrived owner remembered us prebooking. Gave us all information regarding position of E.H.P. Water, chemical disposal point. Bus service. Told to pick our own site all hard standings level with plenty of surround grass. Main toilet block as 4 male /female showers& toilet combined plus separate shower & toilet Other shower and toilets near reception (don't know how many). All toilets very clean and kept well stocked with paper. Farm shop and cafe seemed very popular. Excellent bus service (stop outside site entrance)to York 15 min to centre. Will certainly use this site again

There are two sites in one here. The main caravan site behind the farm shop and the CL near to the busy road. We stayed on the CL site.
Facilities for the CL and the main caravan site are a very long walk from the pitches - very impractical. The ladies was clean but had a very over powering smell of bleach. The gents was OK, but as with most sites there is always someone who uses the facilities and cant be bothered to clean them after! The chemical waste point which is actually on old toilet was disgusting.
There are only 2 showers each. These cost an additional 50p per shower. They weren't powerful and fluctuated from hot to cold. Lack of hooks and shelves made showering a chore.
There are 3 pigmy goats in a pen near the farm shop. Marion (the small one), Robin the one without any black and Locksley the other. They are very nice and very friendly. They loved the carrots that we took them each day. Marion likes a rub and will stand on the log to be fed as Robin likes to headbutt her.
On the CL site there was a lot of road noise. This is constant and doesnt even die down on an evening. Also I appreciate that the farmers need to use mechanical bird scarers, but it was very load and started up at 7.30am til dusk every 15 mins. I wouldn't mind but the birds didn't take a damn bit of notice!
Lots of birds around. It was rather cold so we bought them fat balls etc We saw Robins, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Black birds and Thrushes whilst we were there.
Site is well placed for visiting York. 7 mins and you are in the city centre. Monks Cross shopping centre very close by (2 mins in the car).
Cant say we had a friendly welcome. Was asked to pay again, even though had sent full payment at least two weeks prior. Never saw any staff after initial booking in.
If you decide to visit this site it is best to look out for a large green Farm Shop sign and not the very small sign for the site which was obscured by the brick pillars until right on top of the entrance.
