Great BH weekends fishing and stay in one of the lodges.
Grand children loved it and it kept them off their phones and games (result)
Only walls between adjoining lodges are not sound proof. Had to talk to noisy neighbours at 22:45 to quieten down.
Otherwise great stay, friendly and helpful staff

Been down to Chequertree now for 5 years running and always stay in one of the chalets. The fishing is excellent and although we don't venture far off the site there is plenty to do and see if the fancy takes you. The small cafe bar is very friendly and you will not find better hosts than Chris and his family who will go out of their way to make sure your stay is as near perfect as it can be. We are a group of fella s who go there and book from year to year so we can guarantee a chalet and fish. If you miss out on this venue you are making a big mistake. Ed Trott.

Chequertree fishery and campsite friendly owners, area clean and tidy. Major superstores about 4 miles, local store 1 mile. Showers are not on this site, toilet in small club house clean and usable. Fishing very good [mixed bag] Will return The electric hook up on our pitch was via a three pin plug to an adaptor that takes the caravan plug. Link supplied by owners.

This our second visit to this site. It is basically a coarse and trout fishery with some camping pitches by the lake. There is a men's and a ladies' toilet which are reasonable but no showers.
There is a cafe and bar which is very acceptable in the hot weather. You camp right by the lakes and can fish right beside your pitch. For the fisherman these lakes are famous for being stocked with sturgeon. (caught four 15-20 lb).
Everyone is very friendly and helpful. There is water, electric hook-up, waste (both chemical and water). If you have your own shower and like fishing this is a marvellous site with many attractions in the area. The only downside for me is the water makes a lousy cup of tea.
There were children there camping and fishing but that is the only facility for them. There are also 2/3 lodges on one side of the lakes.
Will be back.
