 We first visited Ashdon Farm when our booked campsite didn't have space for us for a further two nights, but have returned this year for our full stay because of the wonderful dog walk. You have to walk through two fields to get to it (which may have sheep grazing, so leads and controllable dogs are essential) but once through the third gate you have a magical place with paths along streams and mown grassways around four mini-lakes. We could spend the day down there with a book and some puzzles (and probably will before we go home). Children must be supervised because of the deep water, but surrounded by fields, and securely fenced, it is a place to relax and is truly delightful.
As this is a CL it does not boast a toilet block or showers, so probably an overnight stop for most tourers. We have relatives nearby so the lack of showers is not a problem; waste disposal, fresh water and electric hookups are all we need. There are more than enough hookups for the 5 units allowed, which gives a choice of where to locate - useful for us as one of our dogs is very young and still a bit yappy! The owner is very helpful - I can thoroughly recommend Ashdon Farm
