We had a super stay at Southfield farm, a very quiet, rural site with rolling hills and big skies.
A toilet and shower was a big a bonus.
Lots to do in the area, we went to Bath, Bristol, discovered the Cotswolds and had some lovely bike rides.
The only tricky part is the narrow road to get to the farm

It was very nice place to stay, and if you are a walking it's fab.
I would go back again as I have family nearby.
And it a good site to have as a base for a lot places.

Nice small site well away from noisy roads. A short walk to the village pub with good food and beer.
Basic shower/toilet, but very clean. The shower room, with underfloor heating, has to be the warmest in England.
Malmesbury is very walkable across the fields. Footpaths for walking are available. Swans and pheasants can be found in the locale

A superb and well run campsite with good facilities and many excellent walks around the area form the campsite.
We especially like being able to walk directly to Malmesbury along the river.
The owners werre very helpful, obliging and friendly. Great views form the campsite itself.

One of the most beautiful locations. Good concrete access, none of those awful pothole entrances! Quiet with stunning outlook. Exceptionally friendly young couple running the farm. My husband says its the best CL we've visited so far, for toilet waste disposal and water. It was the farmer who suggested collecting the water in the car as the field slopes downhill towards the utilities - and it's an uphill return! Huge field with plenty of space to put up an awning. No charge for extra car. Reduced price if staying more than 7 nights. We shall return.

As users of Cls in a number of areas of the UK, we feel this is one of our favourites. Peaceful, tranquil, and friendly just what's needed in our busy life.
We consider that the cost is about average, and help is generally at hand if needed. It is a CL so yes, there are limited facilities. But all the essentials are there.
Hook up, Water, And Elsan tip. Who needs more? Comment has been passed on the access to the site. Our outfit is not the easiest to manoeuvre, when we use the site when on business, but we have never had any problems.
Our dogs love the freedom, both with the walks on the farm or into the village of Lea. We too liked the 'Library'.
We are very familiar with the town of Malmesbury but recommend taking advice on which 'chippy' to patronise!

The site is on a friendly working dairy farm. There is a narrow part you have to negotiate before you reach the farm, but it didn't cause us any problems.
We stayed for 3 nights over August bank holiday and loved every minute of it. There are no toilets or showers but there are EHU's, water and somewhere to empty the toilet.
We had cows behind us and fields to the front of us. You can pitch your van whichever way you like. You can walk to Malmesbury across the field or along the stream although we didn't do this as the weather wasn't good, choosing instead to use the car.
The Abbey is well worth a visit and the village has an overall quaint feel to it. The site is in the village of Lea, here they have an old telephone box that acts as a book swap.
For a peaceful, relaxing break you'd be hard pushed to find anywhere better. We can't wait to go back.

This is a Caravan Club CL and has no WC or shower facilities, but does have EHU's. There are 5 pitches set in 2 acres, so bags of space between pitches and lovely views across fields to Malmesbury.
There is as long walk from the furthest pitches to the water and chemical disposal points and some people will want to drive there across the field. But the rural location and peace and quiet more than compensate. The furthest pitch was on a slope and even needed a block under one corner steady. Yes, the access road is narrow and a car I met coming the opposite direction had to reverse quite a long way.
However, the owners are very friendly and helpful, the location is lovely, Malmesbury is a short walk away via fields and footpath and I will certainly be returning.

This is a very pleasant CL, but I think the price of £11 per night is a little excessive, as there are no loos or showers, and the one hardstanding is a concrete area near the house with an ehu point in a shed, for which you will need an adaptor. We forgot we had an adaptor, borrowed one from the owner and it didn't work!
It's a working cattle farm, so a bit smelly, but is nicely kept with mown grass; the owners are friendly and try to be helpful. Pretty surroundings with a nearby stream, and a footpath where you can walk to Malmesbury, although we didn't use this. The main problem is the very narrow and winding lane to the site, 2 caravans meeting would have no chance to pass and nowhere to turn or reverse, so choose your time carefully.
We would use the site again, it's an ideal stopover (we were travelling to south west Wales).
