Great facilities (good toilet facilities,
Cafe on site with exceptional chocolate brownies!),
Super convenient for Afan mountain bike trails.
Everyone camps on one field so might not for you if you’re looking a remote /peaceful woodland spot but certainly convenient.

We stayed for just one night on our way further west. The site was a bit hard to find as there are several parts to the Afan forest park and the postcode takes you a few miles out of your way to one of the other visitors' centres, which has dorms but no camping. Once we were there we were spoilt for choice, there were only two other tents and we pitched near a fire pit and bench.
We were looking out over the valley and the site was very peaceful, it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere though Port Talbot is just down the road. The reception had closed but this wasn't a problem, the website had said to pay in the morning. The facilities are brand new and spotlessly clean and we had a much welcome cuppa in the cafe the next morning, though more substantial fare was available.
This place really is a mountain bikers playground and that's what most people were here for; you can hire bikes at one of the many visitors centre. There was a museum of mining at the one we were at but sadly not enough time to visit. A two man tent cost us £5 for the night! The gnat bites were free of charge.
