Stayed on this site twice now on the same pitch with 2 kids and 2 dogs. It's such a friendly site the managers running the site were lovely and friendly giving it a personal touch.
The pitch that we have stayed on was very good grass pitch and very clean plot.
The 2 toilets are basic but spotlessly clean and never had to queue for. The showers I have not used as we have used the one in the caravan. Value for money is excellent and the kids and dogs always have such a great time. Great little gem of a place.

A wonderful campsite, very friendly and welcoming owner. Quiet and peaceful, in a stunning location. No playground as such, but there is so much room to play, with its own little wood, lake, and surrounding areas for walks and outdoor activities. Basic amenities but that's to be expected on a small intimate site. Have visited twice, will keep coming back!

Lovely site. Well maintained. Would visit again
Owner helpful and wardens very welcoming
Has a couple of toilets and a shower (charge for shower £1) all kept nice and clean by the wardens
We were on a large hard standing pitch. Rest were grass pitches which had pleny of space around them.
Electric is on a meter which is easy to use. We were spending £1 a day on it
Ideal location for us as we have a motorhome and have to rely on cycling or catching a train or bus to places. It was only a short cycle ride to Southwell (very easy if you go down the racecourse road - owner gave directions) and short train ride to Newark (only £2. 50 day return)
Small shop in next village (1 mile away) also pubs nearby.

This site is situated on an old plant nursery and has very nice gardens surrounding it with plenty of specimen trees and other plants, there is a small wood at the end of the camping area and a large field for the kids to play football etc. There are two small ponds on the site currently full of tadpoles so good for the nature lovers
Most of the pitches are on grass with electric hook up and metered electric along with 1 shower and two toilets
We found the site peaceful and pleasant, there is a riverside pub 1 mile away and a Indian pub come restaurant 1/2 a mile away, if you want a nice surroundings a peaceful sleep, waking up to the bird songs and a local pubs within walking distance this fits the bill for us, there is also a local bus service to Southwell which has a racecourse and plenty other attractions, we will be returning soon

We stayed here with friends in two camper vans for Easter bank holiday 2016. Both had hook ups and awnings. Hook up is by payment meter taking £1 or £2 coins. The whole weekend we burned less than £1 a day.
The site is beautiful - quiet, scenic and plenty of space. There were a few caravans also staying but the site was not full. The owner was very friendly and helpful and is bringing the site back into operation after a previous owner seemingly neglected the upkeep.
There's two toilets and one shower (20p or £1 coin needed) ports cabin style (bring your own loo roll) but they were clean and spider free! Water tap and waste water points are next to the loos.
Kids and dogs loved the open space and little pond plus the horses in a nearby field. There are a couple of pubs nearby but all were booked up for the bank holiday. We walked into Southwell one day and caught the bus back.
Would recommend to campers who are looking for a quiet getaway. I was worried about the noise of trains based on the previous reviews but didn't hear any until the Monday, and then only because I was listening out for it.

First time away in a touring caravan, didn't realise it was Spring bank Holiday, so everywhere (EVERYWHERE!) booked. Chap running this site was away, so hadn't filled site up, so by chance got a last minute spot here. Glad we did - it's a lovely site. Pitch faced out onto the ponds with lovely view of the site. Even full I think there are only ten spots, with plenty of room. Very handy for Newark. Only one shower, but I think we are alone in having a caravan so old we don't have one on board! Everything very clean. Really peaceful - no noise from roads, railway etc. If we go back to this area we'll look to this site first. Kelham Hall up the road was fully booked - but we called in and it was just chaos - over full, facilities at the hall suspended because of a wedding, staff couldn't say when they be open again. Book here instead :-)

First time to this site. Easy to find. If you want quiet a basic site this worked for us. Our friends turned up late Friday evening the owner made sure that they could get on site by telling the other campers to move over. The owner was very friendly and very helpful, he came round to make sure all was well, and yes we shall come back again

I went up to fiskerton fishing on the river trent and stayed at This site for 3days. When I arrived there was only 1couple in a Caravan so I thought this is nice so I put up my bivvy (tent) in Camping terms.
There was so much room it was lovely, the Gardner had just Mowed the grass, it was nice and flat, so I went down the river for a couple of hours then back to bed.
Woke up on the Saturday went to the river when I got back there Was a group of adults with children, it was nice to hear a few voices.
Back down the River on the Sunday and when I returned early evening Everyone had gone so I had the site to myself.
All in all a very clean and tidy campsite with drinking water, toilets, and Shower which is payable, maybe if it was to get very busy you would need More than one toilet each, but I will be back soon.

I have been cycle camping at this site now for 5 years at least twice a year. On my visit on 16 June 14 To my surprise I found it under new ownership and a different system.
I was aware it was up for sale
At the entrance a large noticeboard displays two mobile numbers which when called gave a request for a message to be left and will then call back. I therefore did not know what to do and was pleased it was not raining
Eventually the new owner Alan for just a month called me and came in few minutes a very friendly helpful chap and I soon pitched my Banshee tent.
A new helpful improvement are the many new picnic tables which I found an asset for my cooking and comfort.
In future I will contact and make arrangements before arriving
A couple of suggestions hooks in the toilet and better steps to enter and leave especially when dark
