We stayed here during the Jubilee celebration weekend and the site was full. The pitches are grass and very large and flat with electric posts and bins shared with your neighbour. This a brilliant site for those seeking peace and quiet with plenty of room to sit out. The toilet block has one shower between 8 caravans and is quite adequate. The owner is friendly and helpful there is a an electric bike shop for sales and hire on site. All in all this is an excellent site for visiting Lincoln and North Lincolnshire and Torksey lock and caravan centre is about 5 mins away by car. I would highly recommend this site

This is a great child free site and has everything you need for a short break or longer at extremely reasonable prices, yes the facilities are basic but so is the price charged! There are pubs within easy cycling or walking distance and a very short drive or cycle the interesting canal and lock off the Trent at Torksey where there is also a fairly large caravan dealers pubs and nice walks. We didn't notice any road noise at all and the toilets were well cleaned. We are booking again for 2012 this a well run site well worth visiting

Managed to get booked in over Bank Holiday weekend due to a cancellation, although fully booked, not all turned up so was plenty of space, only £10 per night bargain! Easy to find off the A1500, entrance easily accessible even for large outfits. Ground was flat but a bit bumpy in places so may need leveling chocks in places. Owner very nice, not laid down too many rules - just be courteous for other campers, no kids, pets welcome and clean up after yourself.
There is a kitchen and drying area for tenters - didn't go in it so can't comment. There are 2 separate loos, one with a shower. Kept tidy and clean, could do with a little modernizing but for the cheap price - can't really complain.
Hook ups are towards the front of the field,(look in the hedge under a bucket if you can't find any!) Tents are at the end of the field. There's an area at the far of the field to walk dogs. Public transport is about a mile walk into the village but no pathway.
Not a lot in the area if walking but plenty of pubs. Large night sky if you want to take your telescope.Approx 6 miles from Showground and 8 miles to Lincoln. They sometimes open in the winter for the Lincoln Christmas Market depending on the weather. Also sell Batribikes on site. Would definitely go again.

We stayed on this site for 7 nights during the first week of August.
The site position is good being only being a 5 minute drive from the Lincolnshire showground and Lincoln itself about 15 minutes away. About 3 miles away from the site is RAF Scampton where the Red Arrows are based and on the Monday we were able to watch them training which was brilliant.
The site was only £10 a night which was very reasonable and the owners friendly enough. The site is also into recycling and on arrival we were given a bag and asked to recycle certain items. The site is directly behind the owners’ home and comprises of 2 areas the first being a small field with room for about 4 pitches and directly behind that a larger field for about 6 pitches. The pitches are very spacious. The first smaller field houses a shed with the 2 toilets, 1 shower and washing machine (you just leave £2 in a bowl if you use it) but there is no dryer.
There are unfortunately a couple of points that let the site down.
Firstly the road the site is off is the A1500 which is a fairly busy road with national speed limit and there seemed to be a constant sound of speeding vehicles passing. Admittedly we were on the first smaller field and the noise was less noticeable from the second larger field.
Secondly were the toilet/shower facilities. There are two rooms in desperate need of brightening up, one a very small room with a toilet and wash basin, the lighting in here was very poor and the toilet seat was broken, it was dusty and dirty. The second room slightly larger and better lit with a shower and once again dusty and dirty. Unfortunately neither rooms were cleaned regularly, we arrived on a Saturday when the floor was dirty and it was the following Saturday before it was looked at again. The towels were then changed and the floor brushed but the shower wasn’t cleaned and empty shampoo bottles were left on the shower base they had been there 3 days already.
Unfortunately due to the poor facilities we will not be returning. We have by the way stayed at a number of CL sites with basic facilities and sheds housing the toilet/shower facilities but these are the worse we have come across. If you intend to use your own van facilities then the site as I have said is in a good position.
