We've been to Villamar now for three year and its great. Can get busy around the pool in July-August with loads of kids but that's to be expected. Just bought a caravan there close to reception. In the process of improving it, can't wait to have a week in it in September. If anyone out there has any views on the place good or bad lets hear them.
I am not sure which site Jeanm visited but it can not have been Camping Villamar.
This site has been a prime site since it opened in 2002 and has a waiting list of people wanting to use it. The site is as it says 5* with all the roads internally tarmac and swept every day in high seasons. The pitches are not small but the minimum size is 9 x 9 meters and easily accommodate a 7 meter caravan as testified by the many caravans of 6/7 meters on the site. Each pitch has it's own drinking water connection and electric hook up for 10 amp.
The facilities are top class and the bar prices are some of the lowest in Benidorm. The washroom facilities are some of the best I have been to and are only let down by some of the people that use them not because of the staff not doing their job properly. With reports like that we would not want Jeanm to come back.
They state that this site accepts tourers. It does but the pitches are horrendous! It was like staying in the middle of a 'shanty town!' Most were permanent touring caravans that hadn't moved for years. They were small and uneven and almost impossible to get a small caravan into! That said, if Benidorm is 'your thing' there is a bar/ restaurant and entertainment on site. Amazing swimming pools. Within easy walking distance of Benidorms sea front and shops. Sanitation facilities were also Ok. Due to the poor pitches I would not return here.
