This is my first review and just had to tell everyone what a cracking place York Yurts is! The yurts are so unusual and to be located in the North East is fantastic. The owners, Sara and Darren, went out of their way to help and we got on fantastically till quite late around the nightly campfires. It is a low key, easy going place where you can just relax and not worry about a thing. The communal kitchen was nice and clean as were the loo and bathroom.
The food from Sara was restaurant quality and I would highly recommend the steak! She makes everything from scratch including the most delicious homemade cheesecake ever! Not taking the food as part of the trip really is only experiencing half of this unique place.
If you read anything negative about this place, ignore it! You are in for a real treat!

The owners Sara and Darren could not have been more accommodating, a very warm welcome and the yurts are as tastefully furnished as the web site shows. The facilities are ample and clean. The beds are extremely comfortable and we will definitely recommend to friends and family. We stayed with our 2 children who loved the novelty of posh camping in the yurt and loved stargazing whilst sat around a campfire that the owners put on most nights. The surrounding area is lovely with york 15 minutes away and the beaches at Scarborough and filey less than an hours drive. Despite having 3 days of rain in a 5 day stay we had a great time and the site was great.

We have just returned from a 2 nights in a yurt and what a fantastic time we had. What a lovely luxury tent and place. It was only 15 minutes drive from york. The owners were very helpful and nice. Both nights the owners made a fire in the field and surrounded it by hay for us to sit on and toast marshmellows. By the side of the yurt was a cooking tent, which was great. There was also a hot tub and luxury bathroom, which were both also great. There was also a heated marquee with a dining table and chill out area. It was reasonably priced and will definitely be booking again soon!

A fabulous, boutique site. The site has 3 yurts, each individually styled with luxurious yet comfortable furnishings. The attention to detail in each Yurt is second to none, think memory foam mattresses, cleaming white bed linen, soft cushions and colourful throws, with a wood burning fire. Each Yurt has the design and facilities of a city centre boutique hotel, yet the peace and serenity of open countryside. In addition to your beautiful yurt you also have your own cooking tent, with ample good quality, stylish crockery and cooking equipment. There is also a communal kitchen with a large fridge and two well sized dinning tables. If the weather is bad and you want to leave your yurt (though I can't imagine why you would) there is a large, heated marquee with sofa's and bean bags on which to relax and play board games. The bathroom is great with its roll top bath and powerful shower, there was a constant supply of hot water. This site is ideal for both families and couples. In the evening there is an area for camp fires, which we really enjoyed, just enough company to have a relaxing laugh and drink without anything remotely commercial. Sara and Darren the site owners should be really proud of the wonderful little paradise they have created -- nothing was too much trouble for them, fantastic hosts. We will be back soon.
