Springwood is Like a piece of heaven,
As soon as the gates closes behind you it’s time to relax, I have a wooden cabin on site and I spend as much of my spare time here as possible.
Springwood has a vast sun lawn with 2 mini ten courts that keep you entertained while topping up your tan or if you are feeling energetic you can always have a go at it.
We also have 3 Different terrain pétanque pistes for the gentler sport and will never fail to find anyone to play with any of the sports.
We also have a outside swimming pool which is heat.
Springwood as the name dictates we have a small woods with a natural spring pond.
We are a very friendly club and socialise on the sun lawn and in the evening either of the two club houses, check website for events
Springwood is located just of the A12 in the beautiful Essex countryside so plenty of walks to do, it is also located a short drive into the historic Colchester town and if you don’t feel like driving you can always get the bus at the top of the road !
You have a local shop a short walk away or a bigger supper market a short drive away.
Facilities available are communal showers, toilet block, washing machine, sauna, BBQ, fridge/freezers

Games courts and sun lawns. Small rustic clubhouse and a large modern pavilion. Modern brick built sanitary block. Children's club house and a play area with swings. Camping sites with a proportion of these kept available for visitors.
British Naturism members always welcome, provided prior arrangements are made. Caravans, camper vans now accepted with electric hook up, limited availability. Trailer tents and tent pitches also available on site. Adequate car parking.
Open all the year round with regular social events.

“Springwood, a little bit of paradise”
I always thought that you could only be a virgin once in your life but apparently not! My wife and I have just returned from five days at a naturist club having gone there as, yes you've guessed it, virgins. This time though our fear, fumbling’s and potential embarrassments were averted right from the word go by the welcoming smiles and kind words from the clubs members.
We had our mini holiday at ‘Springwoods’ a naturist club just on the outskirts of West Bergholt near Colchester Essex. We approached the club through a narrow and somewhat pot-holed road, towing our caravan and following our Sat-Nav hoping we were going in the right direction without much prospect of being able to turn round easily should it be wrong. Had it not been for one of the members opening the entrance gate we would have driven straight by for their ‘Springwood’ sign was a bit on the inconspicuous side.
However, I must add that this is to be rectified when the new one is to be erected at the gate anytime now.
We were met inside by Maureen, the club secretary who made us feel so welcome. After having had an hour’s drive the offer of a cup of tea and coffee went down a treat and having stripped off we began to set up. Several times Maureen made sure we were okay and asked if we needed assistance but all went well. Our set-up complete it was time to be shown around their club. The first thing that struck us was how peaceful it was apart from the laughter and chat of the members bathing in the sun.
Surrounded by dense wood land the club is kept in immaculate condition by the members who seem to work tirelessly cutting grass, trimming trees etc. There is a large duck pond and a woodland walk through the outskirts of the club which is totally un-overlooked and meanders past the log cabins which are owned by club members.
The heated swimming pool is superb and with the sun blaring down my wife walked straight in and swam away calling, “come on in its lovely!” I knew the pool had only been heating for a short time but trusted her completely. DOH! I dived in and instantly thought that penguins would be more at home here than I was. Saying that the pool was really quite warm and improved rapidly throughout our stay it’s just that I’m a coward when it comes to cold water swimming!
The two Miniten courts are superb and obviously are the pride and joy of the members and quite rightly so. There is also an area for Petanque and even somewhere for archery!
The clubhouse is cosy with a large log burner for those chilly nights and facilities to make a drink, do toast or heat a meal if required. There is also a large modern pavilion/function room complete with surround sound which was superb when they showed a film one evening. Toilets were spotless and the showers were hot and constant.
I know this is the first naturist club that my wife and I have been to but I cannot see how anyone is going to better it. All the people we met were so friendly and helpful so much so it was as though we had known them for years rather than just a few days.
We hope we didn’t upset anyone whilst there and will certainly want to return in the near future should they allow us. Thank you one and all for making our stay so enjoyable!
Pete and Lesley.

We have just come back from Springfield and had a great few days there enjoying the most relaxed jubilee celebrations. We had a great 1950s tea party and 50s disco, thanks to all the members efforts
We were made most welcome by Wendy on arrival with a nice cuppa while we set up the caravan, great place to go naturist, weather permitting and the members were great company, getting you to mix in with them.
We couldn't thank them enough. We were sorry we had to leave them. A great bunch of naturists you could ever meet
Had we lived nearer to Springwood we would definitely join their club
