This was our 6th visit to this gem of a campsite and it still rates as high as ever in our opinions.
The site is part of a traditional working farm complete with friendly farmer, barking dog and bullocks making noises and byproducts that only bullocks can make.
The site offers a rough, sloping meadow with a tap by the gate and a chemical disposal point by two toilets of a fairly challenging nature.
Local facilities include endless walking, cycling and bird watching together with an excellent pub 2 mins down the road. If you are looking for a sterile, lawned experience you will be well disappointed.

This is a basic campsite on a working farm. It's a field with a male and female toilet, each with a sink and cold water. The field has a slight slope, and it's not smooth.
Chemical disposal is by the toilets. There's a water tap and waste area by the gate. And that's it. And the cost reflects this.
The farmer is a really nice bloke.
There's a very good pub a couple of minutes walk down the road, and you're close to Minsmere RSPB reserve, with loads of wildlife. It's a really great area to walk, not just Minsmere, but also the coast, Dunwich Heath and Forest, and The Aldringham Walks. It's also worth visiting Leiston, and its museum.
The site is basic, but fine if you're using it as a base for a short time - it's certainly no holiday resort.
Would we go back. Definitely.

Basic basic basic. This is a field on a farm with tractor, cow and dog sound effects.
One male and one female toilet. When we arrived female toilet door wouldn't close let alone lock. Also very smelly inside. Take your own loo roll. We fixed the door.
Tap/drain for chemical disposal next to toilets. Very hard to find tap for drinking water. Eventually stumbled on it as we were looking for a bin. It is next to the gate where you go into the field and the bins.
No answer at door of either nearby house and no signs to say which is the reception. Eventually discovered it is the further away house, not the nearest which was confusing.
Great area for walks and birders as just near Minsmere RSPB.
Good pub 5 mins down road.

Very cheap camping at £6 total per night for 2 adults.
Arrive very early in the morning, weren't sure at first where was camping and where was farmland.
Pitched up went to visit Southwold (beautiful little seaside peer worth a visit).
Pros:
The campsite was clean middle of the country, easy to pitch in, very quiet. Excellent pub across the road that does lovely food and good local ales.
Very beautiful local area, wildlife etc.
A selection of quaint shops in driving distance.
Probably the most unspoilt of all the local campsites.
Laid back working farm, quiet, safe local area based in field.
Cons: The shed toilet in the ladies was broken, stank of sewage full of bugs no running water.
The chemical disposal and water supply were the same tap.
Overall definitely worth it if you have a caravan and your own kit or want a short break. And a really good value pretty little site if you don't mind waiting til you visit local cafe's or the pub to use the loo.
In comparison the site we moved to that had showers etc. Was not as nice, without a local pub and far dearer. Good for scout groups, DofE etc probably not for larger families.

This is a certificated site so access is in theory restricted to Camping and Caravanning Club members. One male and one female wc in a wooden shed, so facilities are very basic. No electric hook up. We paid £7.00 per night and used our own facilities.
The best thing about this site is its location. A good centre for watching wildlife. Each evening we'd walk towards RSPB Minsmere and see barn owls, marsh harriers and herds of red deer. It's a good centre for walking on coasts and heaths or cycling through the beautiful Suffolk villages. Snape, Thorpeness, Walberswick, Framlingham, Westleton.
The Eels Foot Inn is close by and serves food.Leiston has an interesting museum, chip shops and coop supermarket. Saxmundham has a Waitrose.
We love this area and we'll be back.
