The site was easy to find, with the directions given. There is not a lot in the immediate vicinity, but the nearby town had shops & supermarkets. At this time of year (April) it was not very busy. The majority of the site is static caravans & cabins. The touring pitches that were available were in need of some 'care & attention! ' A lot of the facilities were not open, but we expected that, as we were using it as a 2 night stopover on our way to Spain. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful.

We stayed in this medium sized campsite for 5 nights in October in our tent. When we arrived reception was open and we were able to choose out own pitch as they were fairly quiet. Pitches were of a good size, some with wonderful views, although they were not very level - with some on a distinct slope and many tree roots etc. Powerhook up was OK, although the plug in points needed some maintenance - some were very far from the pitches as well, with one or two people who were there at the same time as us struggling even with long extension leads.

The location of the campsite and it's setting are great - set right in the vines, its a beautiful location - you really are 20 mins from Saint Emilion, 30 from Bordeaux and many other wonderful attractions. The small towns in the area, San Suerin, Castillion, Lussac, Puisseguin are also lovely, very friendly local people, wonderful patisseries etc. It took us one or two gos at finding the site but once we picked up their signs it was easy. You are in the middle of nowhere though so you will definitely need a car to get around. The weather at that time of year was lovely, warm, sunny days with a bit of a chill at night.

The 'sanitary block' was was cleaned once in the 5 days we were there, only one shower was in use and one toilet. My husband would only use the disabled toilet, gents urinals blocked and overflowing, toilets filled with sanitary waste. It was really unpleasant. There was also no toilet roll provided in any of the toilets and the floor was very dirty and muddy. The swimming pool was closed (fair enough at that time of year). Reception had opening hours on the door however they were very rarely available, the door was usually locked. When they were in a nice young man was very helpful.

The restaurant and bar were open once during our stay but we did not try it. The wifi was quick - although when we were given our password we weren't given long enough for our whole stay and had to track down the reception staff for a new one.

Overall we had an enjoyable experience and will be visiting the area again soon.

This was our first visit to Le Pressoir and though we arrived quite late in the evening our welcome was warm. The pitches for a motorhome could be a bit more level but the site was clean and tidy.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and were able to organise visits to wine chateaux etc. The facilities were clean and serviceable. The power hookup & WiFi were all good. The on site restaurant was of a very high standard with superb food and service.

There was lots of maintenance work being carried out on the site in preparation for the coming season but again this was being done late because of the weather. We met plenty of British families who were using this a stopover to and from Spain & Portugal and this would make sense.

The site is situated right in the middle of several vineyards and the surrounding area full of wine growing chateaux. We were there for 6 days and would highly recommend this site to anyone visiting the area.

Fantastic week here - huge pitches compared to UK standards with lovely outlook into the vines. Very clean site and very peaceful (at one point there was only one other family staying there). Even in high season there are not too many pitches that would mean the site is packed. We will definitely return if in the area again. There is very slight (extreme distance) motorway noise from across the valley - but it is not intrusive and you do not hear it at night. Facilities very good and clean. Food at the on site restaurant looked wonderful - we did not try due to age of child. Lovely area with lots to see and do for all ages. We were 2 adults and 18mth old.
