We have just returned from a very wet Easter week end at Hill Farm, where despite the weather we had an amazing time. The site has beautiful views and we will definitely return in kinder weather.
The owners Cynthia and Donald could not have been more helpful, they even gave us a lift to the local pub as the weather was so awful. The farm is set in beautiful countryside and you can walk across the fields to the Perry Cider brewery where there are also tea rooms.
It is an extremely well kept site even the grass had stripes, the owners work very hard to keep it looking tip top.
Well done Donald and Cynthia.

We post this review whilst watching a stunning sunset from our van on site where we are apparently the first visitors of the year and found the grass beautifully mown. We turned up with 10 minutes' notice and were given a lovely warm and friendly welcome by Donald who broke off from a very hectic lambing season (100 so far) and spent some time explaining the site and surrounds to us which was very much appreciated. He and Cynthia are quite obviously passionate about their farm and rightly so. Cynthia came to see us later after feeding the chickens and was equally friendly. We chose the site on the spur of the moment, on our way from Seaton through to the Home Counties, in order to visit Street and Clarks Shopping village. It is, as everyone rightly says, a real gem.

I have just spent 5 nights in this very special CL, a real gem of a site, just outside Crewkerne. Fantastic views are spectacular, a joy to wake up to. A sloping field, so blocks will be needed, but even these are supplied.
The owners are brilliant and made me feel very welcome, a real working farm set in 120 acres of fine somerset pasture, By the time I left I consider them friends for life and I will be returning next year for sure.
No road noise, just the sound of the birds.
With electric hook up and great TV reception, mobile phone reception is also very good on O2 & EE.
One of the best CL's I have ever stayed at. If not the best :0)

Please note, the site owners have advised us that due to very wet ground conditions the Hill Farm CL will not be open again until March 2013.

I cannot endorse the other reviews strongly enough. This site is a real gem and the owners are helpful and friendly. The view is stunning and the area is a fantastic neck of the woods.
A refreshing break in a fantastic location.

Having just been lucky enough to have spent the last 2 weeks at this wonderful CL site, we enjoyed our stay so much it has compelled me to submit my first ever on-line review!
The site is set on 1 acre of partly sloping land (levelling blocks not to be forgotten!), all with electric hook-ups, within a working farm - primarily sheep and cows - on the outskirts of Crewkerne. As the 'Hill Farm' name suggests, its location is set looking down on the most rural and amazing Somerset countryside, which seems to completely surround the site and farm with only the odd house to be seen dotted about in the far distance. Whilst this can leave you slightly open to the elements if you are unfortunate enough to have any particularly wet and/or windy weather during your stay (as we did a couple of days our first week), the spectacular views from all 5 of the spacious grass pitches available are still worth the risk of getting a little windswept! We were fortunate to have some hot September sun throughout our second week and wished to do nothing more on these days than thoroughly enjoy the amazing views and peace and quiet of the site, whilst basking in the sun! To end the day on a perfect note, the BBQ just had to be lighted up early evening in time to eat a burnt sausage or two, watching the most spectacular sunset on the horizon.
On the not so sunny days, there were visits to the towns of Yeovil and Taunton, both of which have plenty of good shops. Another day was spent around the Bridport area with the lovely Jurassic coastline. Each of these towns were within 30 minutes drive from the site, with local Crewkerne only 5 minutes away where you have the choice of three supermarkets to stock up on essentials. Cricket St Thomas with its wildlife park is again only 5 minutes drive from site and a good day out.
If you like nothing better than getting away from it all in tranquil and beautiful surroundings but still within easy distance to the local facilities, then this CL is one of those gems of a site that we have only be able to find once in a blue moon. My only reservation in writing this review is letting it be known to my fellow caravanners, as it is so good I wish I could keep it all to myself! But of course it would be selfish not to share.
I can't recommend this site highly enough and I am sure anyone who visits will want to return again and again.

Just got back from an excellent fortnight at hill farm.Very well kept site with the water coming from a local spring and it tasted better than any bottled water I have ever drank. There are beautiful views across Somerset and some fabulous sunsets in the evenings.
Lovely quiet site on a working farm and very friendly and helpful owners.
It was our first time here and the access was very easy not far from the a30.
The site is only a couple of miles from crewkerne which has a few supermarkets and lovely local butchers selling lovely meat for the bbq.
About half hour drive to bridport and the sea. Yeovil which is a lovely town was about 20 minute drive with all the major chain stores.
Thoroughly recommend this site to anyone looking for a holiday in somerset and we cant wait to go again

Just got back from 2 wonderful weeks staying at Hill Farm.It was our first visit here and we will be returning here again very soon.
The site is set in beautiful surroundings with amazing views across Somerset as far as Exmoor,And we saw some stunning sunsets over Herne Hill
Very clean and well kept site. The water is supplied by a local spring and it tastes lovely.
We were met by the site owners Donald and Cynthia who were very friendly and offered us lots of local information and they had even made up a folder of things to do and places to visit locally.
Excellent site for walking and our dogs loved the exercise or just enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside.
Very easy access from A30 even with our twin axle caravan.
We visited Yeovil which is a lovely town and 3 major supermarkets also went to bridport and the coast which was only about a 30 minute drive,But most of our time was spent on the site.
I cannot praise this site enough and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great holiday in Somerset
