This is a large site with a mix of bungalows, mobile homes, seasonal and touring campers.

Three sanitary blocks kept very clean. Central toilet roll dispenser therefore you have to remember to pull some off before entering the cubicle. The self dosing washing machines cost E5.

Campsite has a bar and restaurant across the road with swimming pools which we didn’t use.

The bakery is on site near children’s play area. Mercadonna supermarket and Aldi are very close to the site, Lidl and other supermarkets within walking distance.

Onsite wifi is free and reliable, accessible with a code for individual campers from reception.

We found that many touring campers stay for several weeks due to the good rates. E

Mpuriabrava itself isn’t exciting but we enjoyed Roses further along the coast which has a good market.

We would return.

This is a modern site which has 3 large sanitary blocks with extremely modern fittings which are keep continuously cleaned. The water is abundant and very hot in the showers, washing up and washing areas and the large capacity washing machines are €4.

There is free and unlimited wifi throughout the site with a good strong signal.

The facilities include a large swimming pool, tennis courts, football pitches and a difficult free crazy course golf. There is a terrace bar and a separate restaurant. All of this is apart from the pitch areas.

Within the campsite is a bakery which produces wonderful bread and pastries to start the day off well.

Pitch sizes are sufficient for caravan, awning and car ( at a squeeze) with abundant 10amp ehu points.

Immediately outside the camp is a very good supermarket (Mercadonna) and across the main road an Aldi and nearby a Lidl.

Also outside the camp are bus stops with lines to Roses, Figueres, Girona and Barcelona Airport.

The main attraction is the new and very clearly designated cycle paths which go to Roses, Empuriabrava and the beach, the large nature reserve and Castello d’Empuria.

Bad weather in France meant we pushed on into Spain. We found Mas Nou on a web site and were a little apprehensive because of the size of the sight. However, it was a pleasant surprise because each pitch was partly shaded, well defined and large and it never felt that we were in such a large sight.

Toilet and shower blocks were kept very clean - toilet paper in dispenser outside the cubicles often ran out sometime late at night. No plugs in sinks either.

Laundry facilities and wash up areas - good, regularly cleaned and never too busy.

We had asked for a quiet spot and got one.

(There was a good children's play area and I was glad not to be near to it and also a kid club in the mornings which looked fun but not too intense)

The swimming pool was larger than most on sites we have visited before and meant you could have a good swim - lots of teenagers bombing in at times and life guards not always even looking at the pool. Childrens pool separated which was good. Sun beds around the pool a little uncomfortable which meant people did not stay on them all day and if you waited you could get one or three together.

The site is away from the town centre and beaches and we had to use the car to get anywhere.

There is a good supermarket at the entrance to the site which was reasonably priced as was the take away food and restaurant on site.

This was a good base to go off and visit the area but mainly Dutch families who all speak remarkable English - not much opportunity to practice Spanish and as we normally pick smaller sites in rural areas we were disappointed not to be able to sample the Spanish culture more.

An excellent site on the outskirts of the town. Approx 3 km from the beach but with a huge swimming pool and good value restaurant

Various pitch sizes and quite a lot of permanent Spanish vans parked. However the whole site is well maintained and immaculate, fresh bread available daily and a large supermarket about 100 mtrs away.

Free WiFi.

Becomes busy at weekends with Spanish arriving.
